7 priorities of Vietnam regarding human rights
The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has just released a white paper on human rights titled "Protecting and Promoting Human Rights in Vietnam," in Vietnamese, English, and French versions. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Vietnam will prioritize human rights in the coming period.
White paper on human rights
At the regular press briefing of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 18, spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang provided information about the white paper "Protecting and Promoting Human Rights in Vietnam".
Ms. Hang affirmed that throughout history, Vietnam has continuously fought for fundamental human rights, especially the right to national independence and self-determination, and the right to live in peace, freedom, prosperity, and happiness for every citizen.
Vietnam is committed to fulfilling its international obligations to promote human rights and actively contributes to human rights forums within the framework of the United Nations, ASEAN, and many other mechanisms.

The White Paper on Human Rights will provide updated information on the laws, policies, efforts, and achievements of the Vietnamese State in the field of human rights, as well as the challenges to be overcome and priorities to promote the better implementation of human rights in Vietnam.
The book consists of four chapters, outlining Vietnam's views, policies, and laws on human rights, Vietnam's achievements in implementing civil, political, social, and cultural rights, and the rights of vulnerable groups.
In 2005, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the book "Achievements in Protecting and Developing Human Rights in Vietnam". Since then, Vietnam has witnessed significant achievements in protecting and developing human rights, particularly the adoption of the 2013 Constitution and the completion of the legal system on human rights.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang stated that Vietnam has made significant progress in promoting human rights in recent years. In the coming period, Vietnam will prioritize several measures to better ensure the realization of human rights. Specifically:
The first,Continue to improve the legal system to better ensure the implementation of the people's fundamental rights and freedoms in accordance with the 2013 Constitution and Vietnam's international commitments.
Monday,Promoting socio-economic development aims to improve conditions and resources for poverty alleviation, and enhance the material and spiritual quality of life for the people.
Tuesday,Improve access to various forms of social security.
Wednesday,Improving the quality of education to develop human resources, including human rights education, aims to raise public awareness and the capacity of law enforcement agencies in this area.
Thursday,We must continue to promote gender equality, as it is a crucial factor in building a strong workforce and improving the quality of life for individuals, families, and society as a whole.
Friday,Community healthcare aims to create a healthy society with access to comprehensive healthcare services, both physical and mental.
Saturday,"Continue to strengthen cooperation with all countries, mechanisms and specialized organizations at the regional and global levels that are relevant to human rights."
Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang stated that human rights are a common value of humanity, but there are still differences in approaches and priorities regarding human rights, stemming from differences in history, culture, political systems, and levels of development. This is a normal practice in international relations. The important thing is that we need to be ready to cooperate and engage in dialogue in a spirit of cooperation, constructive dialogue, and mutual respect.
“Vietnam continues to maintain dialogue mechanisms on human rights with a number of countries/partners to enhance mutual understanding, share experiences, and open up opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights. We also hope that the international community will have an objective, comprehensive, and balanced view of Vietnam's efforts and achievements in ensuring human rights,” Ms. Hang emphasized.
