The WannaCry attack has affected several businesses in Vietnam.

The victims of WannaCry in Vietnam were mostly small and medium-sized enterprises with weak security systems. Notably, this included businesses that provide and lease servers, domain names, system data, and online businesses that share large amounts of files and data.

According to security experts, there is currently no way to recover the data. Some businesses have accepted paying ransoms to retrieve their encrypted information. One company in Hanoi, which owns 40 servers, with 7 critical servers infected by malware, had to spend approximately 100 million VND to fix the problem.

Today, Ho Chi Minh City issued an "alert" regarding the WannaCry malware, requesting relevant parties to update the situation, the extent of its spread, and preventive and remedial measures against the WannaCry ransomware. This information will then be used to guide departments and units implementing and operating the city's information systems.

The Banking Information Technology Department (State Bank of Vietnam) announced that all banks and credit institutions under the State Bank of Vietnam have received warnings about the WannaCry malware attack. "Currently, no banks or credit institutions have been affected by this malware."
