800 computers in Vietnam were infected with WannaCry
The number of computers attacked by WannaCry ransomware in Hanoi is estimated to account for about half, other "hot spots" are Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
As of May 16, about 800 personal computers and servers in Vietnam were infected with WannaCry ransomware, mainly concentrated in major cities.CMC Cyber Security Company.

The victims of WannaCry in Vietnam are mostly small and medium-sized enterprises with weak security systems. Notably, enterprises providing and renting servers, domain names, system data and online businesses with file sharing and large data activities are noteworthy.
According to security experts, there is currently no way to recover data. Some businesses have agreed to pay ransom to retrieve encrypted information. One company in Hanoi owns 40 servers, with 7 important servers infected with malware, and had to spend about 100 million VND to fix it.
Today, Ho Chi Minh City issued an "alarm" about the WannaCry ransomware, requesting relevant parties to update the situation, the level of spread, preventive measures and troubleshooting caused by the WannaCry ransomware. From there, it will guide departments and units that are deploying and operating the city's information system.
The Banking Information Technology Department (State Bank of Vietnam) said that all banks and credit institutions under the State Bank have received warnings about the WannaCry malware attack. "Currently, no banks or credit institutions have been affected by this malware."
