87 million Facebook users' personal information leaked
Facebook's chief technology officer announced that the number of people whose personal information was leaked in the US is 37 million higher than previously announced.
In a blog post yesterday detailing Facebook's changes to user data protection,Facebook CTO Mike Schroepferadmitted that the amount of personal information leaked has reached 87 million, not stopping at 50 million.

Immediately after the article ofMike Schroepfer, Mark Zuckerberg has spoken out to admit his mistake. "We weren't comprehensive enough about our responsibility and that was a mistake. It's my fault," said the Facebook CEO. "When you're building something like Facebook that's unprecedented in the world, you don't anticipate the consequences. The important thing is to learn from mistakes."
Meanwhile, according toReutersCambridge Analytica said it only used information from no more than 30 million Facebook users.
Previously, Facebook was accused of leaking personal information of more than 50 million users. They were collected by Aleksandr Kogan and sold to Cambridge Analytica. This data was later said to have influenced the 2016 US Presidential election. The incident forced Zuckerberg to testify before the US House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee on April 11./.
