Nine police officers from Thai Nguyen were injured while participating in rescue operations.
Historic floods caused by the remnants of Typhoon No. 11 have submerged Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, and many northern provinces in water. Amidst the floods, nine police officers in Thai Nguyen were injured while carrying out rescue operations.
On October 9th, Colonel Ha Trong Trung, Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, visited and encouraged officers and soldiers who were injured while assisting people in relocating during the historic flood.
Captain Duong Quang Huy, an officer of the Linh Son Ward Police, suffered serious injuries to both legs after colliding with the propeller of a motorboat while rescue forces were moving through strong currents.
Sergeant Nguyen Van Tien, an officer from the Mobile Police Unit, also had a piece of glass cut into his leg while helping an elderly woman in a deeply flooded area.
Both officers, along with seven others who were injured, were taken to the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Clinic for treatment. Colonel Trung commended the officers' bravery and dedication to the people, and wished them a speedy recovery so they could soon return to duty.

Earlier, on the morning of October 8th, Ms. Ly Thi Thanh Xuan, Principal of Cam Gia Secondary School (Thai Nguyen City), died from drowning when her house was flooded.
Ms. Xuan was a dedicated teacher, well-liked by her students and parents. Tragically, her daughter and son-in-law are both police officers, but they were on duty fighting the floods when the incident occurred and were unable to return home. Due to the still-deep floodwaters, the funeral for Ms. Xuan cannot be held at this time.
The Thai Nguyen Provincial Police have directed relevant units to support the family, ensure full compliance with policies and regulations, and assist with funeral arrangements for the deceased.
