Nine female teachers in Nghe An province helped deliver a baby for a pregnant woman on the roadside.
(Baonghean.vn) - On their way home from teaching, a group of elementary school teachers stopped by the roadside to help a Khơ Mú ethnic woman give birth.
The incident took place on National Highway 16 in Ky Son district (Nghe An province) at noon on January 16th.
According to teacher Nguyen Thi Chau, a teacher at Pha Danh Primary School in Ky Son district, at the time mentioned above, she and eight other teachers from the school had just finished their classes and were on their way back to Muong Xen town, passing through Kim Da village, Pha Danh commune, when they unexpectedly came across two people struggling with a woman lying on the ground.

Upon stopping to inquire, they learned that a pregnant woman was showing signs of giving birth by the roadside. Without hesitation, the women divided up the tasks; one ran into the village to get towels, another found buckets to collect water and borrowed tools from the villagers, and the remaining one helped the woman deliver the baby.

After about 15 minutes of assistance from the teachers, a healthy baby girl weighing 2.8 kg was born.
