95% of boats in Nghe An are inspected
(Baonghean.vn) - 2,178 boats with a capacity of over 20 CV in Nghe An have been inspected by competent authorities, reaching 95% of the total number of boats required to be inspected in the locality.
Nghe An has 3,895 fishing boats at sea. Of these, 2,292 boats have a capacity of over 20 CV and are subject to inspection.

The total capacity of fishing vessels in the province is 630,184CV, of which the total capacity of vessels over 90CV in Nghe An is 578,962CV.
Mr. Ho The Xuan - Head of Fishing Vessel Management Department & Fisheries Logistics Service Facility (Department of Fisheries) said: In 2017, the Department of Fisheries inspected 2,178 boats, reaching 95.03%, compared to the plan of 100.03%.

The reason why 100% of the ships are not inspected is because some ships are on shore, waiting to be sold without completing registration and inspection procedures; some ship owners request documents approving conversion but do not complete the documents and procedures, leading to the inspection rate being lower than planned.
Currently, Nghe An has 17,651 workers working in seafood exploitation, of which 14,652 are offshore workers.
