The total capacity of fishing vessels in the whole province is 630,184CV, of which the total capacity of vessels over 90CV of Nghe An is 578,962CV.

Mr. Ho The Xuan - Head of Fishing Vessel Management Department & Fisheries Logistics Service Facility (Department of Fisheries) said: In 2017, the Department of Fisheries inspected 2,178 boats, reaching 95.03%, compared to the plan of 100.03%.

The reason why 100% of vessels are not inspected is because some vessels are lying on shore, waiting to be sold without completing registration and inspection procedures; some ship owners request documents approving conversion but do not complete documents and procedures, leading to the inspection rate being lower than planned.

Currently, Nghe An has 17,651 workers working in seafood exploitation, of which 14,652 are offshore workers.
