95% of schools in the province apply information technology.

(Baonghean.vn) - This is one of the outstanding results after one year of cooperation on telecommunications and information technology for the period 2014-2020, announced at the working session between provincial leaders and the delegation from Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on the morning of November 23rd.

Attending the working session, on the side of Nghe An province were: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Le Ngoc Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives from provincial departments and agencies.

Representing VNPT Group were Mr. Tran Manh Hung – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group, Mr. Hoang Van Hai - Member of the Board of Directors of VNPT Group, Mr. Ho Duc Thang - Deputy General Director of Vinaphone Telecommunications Services Company, and other members of the delegation.

A general overview of the working session.

After one year of implementing the cooperation agreement, the two sides have coordinated to promote many cooperative activities and achieved a number of positive results. VNPT Group has provided online conferencing solutions from the central government to the People's Committees of provinces and cities, and online conferencing from the Provincial People's Committee to the People's Committees of districts and towns; at the same time, it has coordinated the deployment and officially put into use a dedicated data transmission network for state agencies in the province, connecting to provincial departments and agencies and 21 districts, cities, and towns; and 463 communes, wards, and townships.

In addition, VNPT Group has deployed its application software systems in the province in various fields: healthcare, education, online social insurance and tax declaration, development of projects and solutions, etc.

The VNPT Group directed VNPT Nghe An and related units to coordinate with the Department of Health, and within one month, from October 1st, 2015 to October 31st, 2015, successfully implemented the VNPT-Hits solution, applying IT in medical examination, treatment, and health insurance payments for 45 medical facilities in Nghe An province.

In the field of online social insurance declaration, as of November 15, 2015, more than 600 units and agencies in the province had used VNPT Group's I-VAN portal to declare social insurance. VNPT Group also coordinated with the Supreme People's Procuracy to provide a connection solution for over 700 locations, including 21 locations in Nghe An.

VNPT Group has deployed the VnEdu education management program to 1,388 out of 1,461 schools, achieving a 95% rate of schools in the area applying IT in school management.

Mr. Tran Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VNPT Group, emphasized that the company will invest in training human resources in the province.

Currently, VNPT Group is providing infrastructure for the installation of 5 servers to support the operation of the Nghe An provincial portal and email system, as well as providing the server system for Nghe An Newspaper and domain names and web hosting services for the People's Committees of districts and towns, departments and agencies of the province, and the Nghe An Police Newspaper.

During the meeting, delegates focused on discussing issues related to several topics, including: developing a plan for timely incident response, coordinating with relevant sectors to issue a rental price framework, implementing software integration, researching online training, and developing a proposal for establishing a training center, etc.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Le Ngoc Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the province will focus its resources to implement the cooperation agreement, and requested that both sides make specific commitments in the implementation roadmap for the coming period.

Attending and giving a directive speech at the working session, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong highly appreciated the cooperative efforts and results achieved between the two sides in the past time, and expressed his hope that VNPT Group would continue to invest in building infrastructure, networks, application software, and areas of information security, etc., so that the cooperation program would be synchronized and effective in serving state management activities, citizens, and businesses well.
