Trump's daughter is making a fortune in China.
According to the Associated Press, the Chinese government pre-approved the registration of three trademarks by Ivanka Trump, daughter of the US president, on April 6th, while she and her husband, Jared Kushner, were dining with Chinese President Xi Jinping at Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

We're talking about jewelry brands, handbags, and spa services. What role does the president's daughter's business play in fostering US-China relations? Here's the opinion of Russian sinologist Mikhail Korostikov.
The Ivanka Trump Marks LLC brand is actively expanding its sales geography and product line, making no secret of its founder's relationship with the current occupant of the White House.
At the same time, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner effectively played the role of White House special envoys, dealing with Chinese officials on a variety of issues regarding the development of bilateral relations, sometimes quite sensitive ones.
Such a combination of political and business relationships is considered unacceptable by many in the United States.
"They are very closely involved in business with China, and I would never allow them to get involved in political matters with that country," said Norman Eisen, former head of the White House Ethics Committee.
Indeed, the Trump family's ties to Chinese businessmen are extensive. Last year, Jared Kushner's firm attempted to attract hundreds of millions of dollars in investment from Anbang Insurance Group, which is considered to be linked to the Chinese government.
After the negotiations leaked to the public, the deal fell through. The Ivanka Trump brand's sales have been more successful: in the first quarter of 2017, their revenue in China increased by 40%. In China, Ivanka has registered 16 trademarks, with 32 others pending.
Trademark registration was necessary for Ivanka to avoid intellectual property theft: after Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, many Chinese companies rushed to register trademarks with his daughter's name, hoping to profit in China from her fame.
Ivanka Trump's autobiography has recently been translated into Chinese and is selling very well. Ivanka Trump has become an idol for young Chinese women; she is seen as a beautiful and successful businesswoman who still maintains a relationship with and respects her father, Kommersant journalist Mikhail Korostik added in his opinion piece.
Ivanka's lawyer, Jamie Gorelick, said there was no conflict of interest: the president's daughter would not be involved in negotiations that touched upon discussions about selling goods produced by her company. But this does not mean she cannot participate, for example, in discussions about foreign policy.
Ivanka Trump is currently actively pursuing this path. During President Xi Jinping's visit to the US, Ivanka's five-year-old daughter, Arabella, sang him a Chinese song, having learned Chinese almost from a young age.
In February, Ivanka and her daughter visited the Chinese Embassy to celebrate the Lunar New Year. They were received by Chinese Ambassador Cui Tiankai, and Chinese television reported on the event. Many Americans believe that Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, played a prominent role in preparing for the first meeting between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump.
