Heartwarming Springtime Birthday Celebration in Nghe An

After the joyful Lunar New Year celebrations with ancestral worship rituals, reflecting the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," and gathering with family, relatives, and friends, families with elderly members often organize longevity celebrations for their parents and grandparents. This year, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung from Hamlet 6, Tru Son Commune (Do Luong District) turns 70 years old. From the beginning of the year, his whole family has been planning a birthday celebration for him during the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit 2023. His children and grandchildren who live far away also arranged their time to return home for Tet and participate in the birthday celebration.

In the morning, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung and other elderly residents were honored with a birthday celebration organized by the village management board at the village's cultural center. Here, the elderly had the opportunity to reunite, raise a glass of wine to celebrate the New Year, enjoy sweets and snacks, and chat happily. Those who reached milestone ages (70, 75, 80, 85…) received certificates and gifts from the Association of the Elderly. The atmosphere of the ceremony became increasingly lively and joyful, with the elderly feeling even happier because of the attention they received from the Party and the State.

After the birthday celebration at the cultural center ended, Mr. Hung and the other elderly relatives were picked up by their children and grandchildren to continue the celebration at home. Their children, grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and relatives presented Mr. Hung with meaningful gifts such as paintings, couplets, clothes, hats, and shoes, expressing their love, respect, and pride for the elder of their family and lineage.

On this occasion, neighbors and friends from near and far came to congratulate Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung on his 70th birthday, joining him for a warm and intimate family meal. The celebration took place in a joyful and heartwarming atmosphere. Seeing his children and grandchildren gathered together, showing their filial piety and respect, and with so many relatives and friends present, Mr. Hung smiled with joy. He shook hands with each person, expressing his emotion and wishing them a prosperous new year, a happy family, and good fortune in all endeavors.

Also in Hamlet 6, Tru Son Commune (Do Luong District), Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tam turned 80 this year and her children and grandchildren organized a birthday celebration for her. The ceremony at the community center had just ended when Mrs. Tam's children and grandchildren, carrying flags and flowers, waited in the yard to welcome her home. Everyone was happy and excited to have a loved one reach such a long age, so they prepared meaningful gifts to present on this occasion.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam shared: "I am deeply moved by the care and attention I receive from the Party and the State, and by the filial piety of my children and grandchildren. This Spring of the Year of the Rabbit, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dung, residing in Block 3, Hung Nguyen town (Hung Nguyen district), turned 75 years old and was celebrated by the Elderly Association. Her joy was further amplified when, upon receiving her 75th birthday certificate, she also received the 55-year Party membership badge. To celebrate this "double joy," her children and grandchildren held a warm and intimate celebratory meal, presenting her with simple yet profoundly meaningful gifts.
