At COMPUTEX 2026, AMD surprised everyone by committing to supporting the AM5 platform for another three years, while also introducing the Ryzen 7 7700X3D and the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card based on the RDNA 4 architecture.

At COMPUTEX 2026, AMD reaffirmed its leadership in supporting PC users by announcing its long-term product roadmap. The biggest highlight was its commitment to maintaining the AM5 socket until 2029, optimizing upgrade costs for the DDR5 ecosystem. In addition, the company refreshed its gaming CPU lineup with the Ryzen 7 7700X3D and a 10th-anniversary edition of the legendary AM4 socket.

Strategy to maintain the AM5 socket until 2029

AMD's most significant announcement at this year's event was the official extension of AM5 socket support until 2029. Since its launch with the Zen 4 architecture, AM5 has become one of the most enduring platforms on the market. Maintaining this socket gives users peace of mind when investing in motherboards and DDR5 memory without worrying about obsolescence for at least the next three years.

This strategy builds on the resounding success AMD achieved with the AM4 socket, a platform that has been with gamers for a decade. This not only helps reduce system upgrade costs but also strengthens user confidence in the AMD Ryzen ecosystem.

Expanding the 3D V-Cache CPU lineup with Ryzen 7 7700X3D

To strengthen its mid-range segment, AMD introduced the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. This is considered a more affordable solution for AM5 users to access 3D V-Cache technology. The product boasts impressive specifications:

  • Number of multipliers/threads:8 people
  • Cache memory:Total 104 MB
  • Clock speed increase:Maximum 4.5 GHz

The product is expected to be available from July 16th with a suggested retail price of $329 (approximately 8,667,505 VND). The Ryzen 7 7700X3D promises to be a top choice for gaming and content creation tasks thanks to its fast processing capabilities and large cache memory.

Paying tribute to the legendary AM4 and the 10th anniversary edition.

Despite transitioning to the DDR5 era, AMD hasn't forgotten users of older platforms. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the AM4 socket, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition has officially launched. This CPU pays tribute to AMD's first 3D V-Cache technology, which completely revolutionized gaming performance.

The highlight of this version is the included Carbice Ice Pad – a new generation thermal conductive material that helps stabilize heat dissipation and simplifies installation. The product will be available from June 25th at a price of $349 (approximately 9,194,405 VND).

Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card and EXPO ULL technology

In the graphics department, the RDNA 4 architecture continues to expand with the introduction of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. This card features 48 compute units (CUs), 12 GB of memory, and a maximum clock speed of 2.79 GHz. According to AMD data, the product delivers an average of 21% higher gaming performance at 1440p resolution compared to competitors in the same price segment.
