An Giang: Tens of thousands of tourists and pilgrims flock to Mount Cam on the 4th day of Tet.
From the early morning of the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, crowds of people from all over flocked to the sacred Thất Sơn region in An Giang province to venerate the Maitreya Buddha statue and pray for peace and prosperity in the new year.
On February 20th (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), the Cam Mountain tourist area in An Giang province recorded a surge in visitors, with tens of thousands flocking for pilgrimage. This is one of the most important spiritual destinations in the Southwestern region of Vietnam, where tourists come to admire the scenery and offer their wishes for the new year.
A bustling atmosphere in the sacred mountain region.
From early morning, the roads leading to Mount Cam were packed with vehicles. After reuniting with family, many people chose this place as their first destination on their spring excursion. The sacred atmosphere of the Bay Nui region, along with the cool weather, created a lively atmosphere characteristic of the early days of the year.
Traffic safety and regulation work
At the entrance area, the management board has deployed personnel to guide visitors in an orderly manner. Signs restricting private vehicles from accessing the mountain have been placed in many locations to ensure smooth traffic flow on the treacherous mountain passes.
Many tourists choose local shuttle buses or motorbike taxis to navigate the winding road through the lush green nature to reach the mountaintop. Thanks to thorough preparation, despite the high number of visitors, transportation remains stable and safe.

A special highlight of the Cam Mountain tourist area is the Maitreya Buddha statue with its joyful smile, a symbol of happiness and good fortune. Before this majestic statue, devout people offer incense, creating a solemn and spiritual atmosphere.
Mr. Tran Thanh Tuan, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "Although I knew it would be very crowded on the 4th day of the lunar month, standing in front of the Maitreya Buddha statue and admiring the panoramic view of the Bay Nui region from above, all my fatigue disappeared."
