Cua Lo welcomes visitors not only with its long, flat stretches of sand and the sound of waves crashing against the shore, but also with the beauty of the morning, when the sun rises and emerges... This land has been a source of inspiration for many poets and musicians to write many poignant and moving songs.

This beautiful coastal town is also home to generous and hospitable people, full of warmth and affection. And this beautiful coastal region is also a cherished memory for those who have left their hometowns. Many poets and musicians have expressed their feelings through poems and songs about Cua Lo, but perhaps the most memorable are the five songs: "Bridge of Love," "Evening at Cua Lo," "Flying Together," "Bridge at Cua Be," and "My Hometown Cua Hoi."

What's special is that all five songs are set to poems by poet Nguyên Hùng. "Chiều nghiêng Cửa Lò" (Evening Slanting at Cửa Lò) music by Đặng Trung, "Cùng hòa nhịp bay lên" (Flying Together) music by Võ Xuân Hùng, "Cửa Hội quê tôi" (My Hometown Cửa Hội) music by Đỗ Tiến Lập; "Nhịp cầu cửa bể" (Bridge of Cửa Bể) music by Đỗ Tiến Lập; "Nhịp cầu yêu thương" (Bridge of Love) music by Phan Thanh Chương.

Poet Nguyen Hung once said: "For me, Cua Lo is not only a vibrant, beautiful, and poetic seaside town, but also a place where I have absorbed the love between people, and between people and beautiful nature." He said that musicians have taken the most beautiful verses from his poems about Cua Lo and set them to life with lyrical and majestic musical notes.

The sloping side of Cua LoThis poem describes the beautiful scene of sunset over the sea. With the vibrant red hues of the setting sun illuminating the peaceful water, a couple walks hand in hand, happily embracing. This romantic scene truly touches many hearts, and composer Dang Trung wrote the song "Evening at Cua Lo" with the purest and most innocent emotion, upon encountering Nguyen Hung's poetic inspiration. The voice of Meritorious Artist Vu Tien Lam gives the song wings. His wide, strong, yet smooth and elegant vocal range makes the song captivating from the very first notes.

With the songLet's soar together!,Composer Vo Xuan Hung also chose a gentle, narrative-rich melody, subtly incorporating the melodies of the Vi and Giam folk songs, adding to the song's charm and appeal. Listeners can sense the tranquil and poetic banks of the Lam River, the river at the estuary appearing romantic and lyrical.

“Flying Up in Harmony” expresses the author's feelings for the bridge spanning the banks of the Lam River at the estuary. The Cua Hoi Bridge is both a highlight of the coastal town, a place for lovers to meet, and a hub of trade and connection, leaving many who pass through with lingering memories. With her bright and emotional tenor voice, Meritorious Artist Que Thuong perfectly performs the song with a full range of proud and nostalgic emotions. Her beautiful voice also allows the song to resonate quickly with listeners, giving it a new, more vibrant and joyful energy.

Poet Nguyen Hung has a particular affinity for poems about bridges. He wrote about the Cua Hoi Bridge with a special love for the Lam River at its source. He said: "The Cua Hoi Bridge, once completed, is called the 'symbol of Cua Hoi,' because from afar it looks like two blazing torches in the middle of the Lam River, partly symbolizing the resilient, indomitable spirit and perseverance of the people of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces throughout generations." The bridge is not only a symbol of the spirit of the people of Nghe Tinh, but also a symbol of a meeting place, a place that evokes fond memories for those far away and pride for those who remain.

WithCua Be BridgeWhile also speaking of the beloved bridge in the poem by Nguyen Hung, composer Do Tien Loc uses even more intense folk elements, with melodies and verses that evoke a sense of closeness and nostalgia as one remembers the old river and ferry. If in his poems "Bridge of Love," Nguyen Hung realistically portrays the bridge with the love of his homeland and its people, in this song he takes listeners back to old memories and recollections, making this poetic river once again breathtakingly beautiful.

WithCua Hoi, my hometownIn this song, composer Do Tien Loc deeply portrays the human and land-loving spirit of the people of Cua Hoi, who are brave and courageous. After so much separation and hardship, the people of Cua Hoi return to the sea, the sea like a mother's heart, the sea like a father's love that has nurtured them for generations. And in this song, the Cua Hoi bridge once again appears as a beautiful symbol of the people of this coastal region.Oh, Cua Hoi Bridge, from here we stand and gaze/ To see the beautiful Hon Mat and Hon Ngu islands/ Watching the cable car swaying across the sea/ stretching far out to the open ocean/ For today, our homeland Cua Hoi, with unwavering faith, rises from the sea.

Bridge of LovePhan Thanh Chương infused the poem with charming musical elements, blending them with the voice of Meritorious Artist Quế Thương, creating a captivating and enchanting experience for the listener. The song includes the passage:Long ago, in the twilight of a distant river, lovers could not be together... but today, walking across the new bridge you built, I sing a song to Mai Trang, to Giang Dinh wharf, and you giggle with your folk songs, as if inviting me."This beautiful poetic imagery is enhanced by composer Phan Thanh Chương's use of various folk and traditional elements, allowing the song to naturally resonate with listeners and resonate with them through nostalgia for their homeland or the vibrant memories of their youth.

Composer Phan Thanh Chương said: When he encountered Nguyên Hùng's poem, he felt it was the most beautiful poem about the river at the estuary, a poem with music and a picturesque scene, and the musical arrangement immediately came to him. He wrote the song in just one day and hardly changed any notes. "I am extremely pleased with this arrangement and believe that this is a song about the seaside town that touches people's hearts, anchoring itself in the hearts of listeners because of its simple and sincere nature, just like the people here," he said.

Cua Lo is not only a source of nostalgia for those who have left their hometown, but also a source of pride for those living in this beautiful coastal region. Therefore, not only are songs set to poems by poet Nguyen Hung eagerly awaited, but many other beautiful songs based on poems are also popular, such as the series of songs by composer Le An Tuyen: "Cua Lo: Love and Nostalgia," "Come to Cua Lo with Me" (set to poems by Xuan Viet), and "Sea Chrysanthemum Fragrance" (set to poems by Tran Tien Dung). Similarly, composer Manh Chien recently released the song "The Fragrance and Beauty of Cua Lo Beach," which immediately garnered significant attention.
