Ancelotti vows not to manage Barca or Atletico.
Having previously managed Real Madrid for two seasons, coach Carlo Ancelotti vowed never to do the same thing to the other two powerful teams in Spain.
In an interview on September 3rd, Ancelotti was asked about the possibility of managing Barcelona in the future. The coach replied: "No, I would never manage Barcelona or Atletico Madrid. I spent two seasons coaching Real Madrid and I always respected the historical rivalry. That was my choice. I have a lot of respect for Barcelona and Atletico, but I couldn't manage them. Similarly, I wouldn't manage Lazio or Inter Milan."
As a player, Ancelotti played for Roma and AC Milan. As a successful coach, he also achieved fame with two Champions League titles. This is a testament to why Ancelotti did not work for rival clubs Lazio and Inter Milan.

In the upcoming Champions League group stage, Ancelotti's Bayern will face Atletico. Last season, under former coach Pep Guardiola, Bayern lost to Atletico in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Ancelotti previously led Real Madrid to victory over Atletico in the 2014 Champions League final.
Ancelotti understands how he will be received by the Atletico fans: "I think that will be normal for any opponent and any coach. I will just focus on my job of winning at the Vicente Calderon stadium."
