Britain faces a potential Brexit delay of several days.

On the night of March 13th, Vietnam time, with 312 votes against and 308 votes in favor, the British Parliament voted to reject the option of Britain leaving the European Union (EU), also known as Brexit, without a deal.

This move means that Britain will have to choose between postponing the Brexit deadline.

Additionally, British MPs also voted against an amendment that would allow the UK government to continue pursuing a no-deal Brexit scenario on May 22nd.

Speaking in Parliament after the second consecutive vote in just two days, British Prime Minister Theresa May warned that Britain would face a lengthy Brexit delay if MPs still did not support her deal.

According to the established roadmap, Britain will leave the EU on March 29th, unless Prime Minister May's government reaches a different agreement with the EU.

However, before this can happen, May needs to get approval from the British Parliament to postpone the Brexit deadline in the vote scheduled for March 14th.

Meanwhile, in Brussels, EU leaders demanded that London provide a “clear answer” on whether it would delay the Brexit process.

The EU's chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier, said that the UK needs to clarify the reasons and purpose for extending the Brexit deadline, while also emphasizing that the EU will not make any further proposals to the UK beyond the agreement already reached.

The previous day, with 391 votes against and 242 votes in favor, the British Parliament rejected for the second time the Brexit agreement that the British government had reached with the EU.

These tough moves by the British Parliament continue to put Prime Minister May's government in a difficult position, while increasing uncertainty about the future of Britain.
