UK: Prince Harry is engaged to American actress.

Prince Harry of Britain and American actress Meghan Markle have announced their engagement, with the wedding scheduled for spring 2018, according to the office of Prince Charles, Harry's father.

Earlier, the engagement announcement appeared on Kensington Palace's official Twitter account.

"The Prince of Wales announces the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Harry has informed the Queen and members of the family of his decision. The wedding will take place in spring 2018; details will be announced," the statement said.

Official photos of Harry and Markle were released on Monday.

Kensington Palace officially confirmed Harry and Markle's relationship in November 2016. At the time, there were concerns about the actress's safety due to the increased media and public attention.
