Mr. Son handed over a charity house to a poor woman.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 20th, the Women's Union of Anh Son district held a ceremony to hand over a charitable house to Ms. Cao Thi Thanh, residing in branch 4, Cao Son commune.

Ms. Cao Thi Thanh is a single mother from a poor household, raising three young children alone. For many years, all four of them have been living in a dilapidated and severely run-down makeshift house.

Representatives from the Fatherland Front of Anh Son district and the Standing Committee of the Women's Union of Anh Son district presented gifts to Ms. Cao Thi Thanh at the house handover ceremony.

Responding to the "Building a Home of Love" campaign launched by higher authorities, the Women's Union of Anh Son district called on its officials and members to donate 20 million VND, and the District Fatherland Front contributed 10 million VND to support Ms. Thanh's family in building a new house.

After more than a month of construction, with the help of labor from relatives and community groups in the village, the house, worth a total of 60 million VND, has been completed and put into use.

From the beginning of 2016 until now, the Women's Union of Anh Son district has called on officials, members, businesses, and philanthropists to build two "Houses of Love and Compassion," and will hand over two more houses to members in difficult circumstances by the end of the year.
