Mr. Son has completed building houses for the poor.
To date, Anh Son district has completed providing housing support to all 257 poor households and households facing extreme housing difficulties, with a total amount exceeding 12 billion VND.

PerformDirective No. 21 dated February 10, 2023, of the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of mobilizing and supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor and those with difficult housing circumstances," has led to the strong development of housing construction for the poor in Anh Son district.
PV: Mr. Son is one of the localities that has effectively implemented Directive No. 21 dated February 10, 2023, of the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of mobilizing and supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties." Could you tell us about the outstanding results in 2024?
Comrade Nguyen Huu Sang:Anh Son District has identified the central task in implementing Directive 21 as disseminating information and mobilizing all officials, civil servants, philanthropists, companies, and businesses to join hands in supporting the construction of houses for poor households and those with housing difficulties; this is one of the particularly important political tasks with humanitarian significance in the district. Following the issuance of the Directive, the district has reviewed and identified 257 houses that need attention and support for new construction or repair.
After more than a year of implementation, the entire district has built and repaired 131 out of 257 houses. In 2024, from the beginning of the year, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee determined to focus on directing and continuing to implement and complete the task of building houses for poor households and households with housing difficulties in the 2023-2025 period (to be completed one year ahead of schedule). Therefore, the entire political system from the district to the grassroots level has set high determination in leadership and direction, actively mobilizing resources to support the construction of houses for poor households and households with housing difficulties, achieving outstanding results as follows:
As of November 30, 2024, sufficient funds have been allocated for the construction of 126 houses. The remaining houses for poor households and households facing extreme housing difficulties in the 2023-2025 period have been approved and completed one year ahead of schedule.
This has created widespread support and sharing in the spirit of "helping those in need," and "those with less helping those with even less," among communities, all social classes, organizations, and individuals inside and outside the district to build houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties in the district.
The Party Committee, the government, and the entire political and social system from the district to the grassroots level have determined that the implementation of Directive 21 will continue as long as there are households facing housing difficulties in the area. Therefore, they regularly review the housing of families in the area, especially poor households, near-poor households, and households of people with meritorious services, to update and supplement the list of households needing support for house repair or reconstruction, and then plan to mobilize resources to provide support.
Following the same results as last year, Anh Son district has now completed the housing support program for poor households and households facing extreme housing difficulties, with 257 out of 257 houses built, totaling over 12 billion VND.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Sang:Anh Son District completed Directive 21 one year ahead of schedule thanks to the care, sharing, and support of philanthropists, businesses, and people from all over the country; and also thanks to the decisive leadership and direction of the district Party committee and government, the involvement of the entire political system, and the efforts of families and the community... The Steering Committee for building housing for poor households and households with housing difficulties at the district level has implemented the following methods:
Strengthen propaganda and mobilization efforts to secure funding; diversify the sources of funding, such as direct funding to households, or through district and commune-level steering committees (with the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels serving as the Standing Committee), or through programs like the Farmers' Association's "Pink Brick" initiative; the Veterans' Association; and the Youth Union providing labor for foundation digging, etc.
The Steering Committees of the communes and towns are tasked with mobilizing local resources; relatives, friends, organizations, and associations should provide additional materials and labor to help the family.
Connecting Anh Son hometown associations in provinces and cities across the country, as well as abroad, to share and support this initiative.
The Fatherland Front Committee is tasked with managing and promptly allocating funds for the construction of houses for households on the approved list once funding is available; coordinating with relevant agencies and departments to widely publicize the program's results in communes, towns, and households through various information channels and social media. Emphasis should be placed on encouraging and motivating households facing extreme difficulties to overcome their challenges, gradually stabilize their lives, and achieve sustainable poverty alleviation…
Strengthen regular inspections at the commune and town levels to promptly address difficulties and obstacles faced by households during the implementation process.
On the other hand, the District Steering Committee also has a policy regarding the support level of 50 million VND for families who cannot afford to build a new house. The Steering Committee will consider increasing this special support level to ensure they can build a house.
