The brother-in-law fatally stabbed his wife's brother-in-law with a bayonet.
Due to a dispute, Tran Duc Lan and Nguyen Van Bich got into a fight. During the altercation, Lan used a bayonet he had concealed in his waistband to stab Bich in the heart, causing his death.

On the evening of August 11th, information from the Ky Anh District Police (Ha Tinh province) indicated that they had temporarily detained suspect Tran Duc Lan for investigation into the death of Bich (Lan's brother-in-law).
Earlier, at around 9:00 AM on August 11th, Nguyen Van Bich (residing in Ky Van commune, Ky Anh district) was drinking alcohol at the house of Tran Van T. in Ky Van commune when Lan arrived. A conflict arose between the two, leading to an argument and then a fight.
After being restrained, Lan got on his motorbike and went home to get a bayonet, which he tucked into his waistband, then returned to Mr. T.'s house to find Bich and talk to her.
As soon as Bich came out, the two sides clashed and fought again. Bich lunged at Lan, pinning him down and strangling him until someone pushed them apart to stop the fight.
As soon as he stood up, Lan pulled out the bayonet hidden in his pants and stabbed Bich through the heart, causing her death on the way to the hospital.
It is known that Bich is Lan's brother-in-law, married to his sister.
