'Arsenal' is the first 18+ film to be released in Vietnamese cinemas.
Nicolas Cage's action film was given a C18 rating by the Film Bureau due to scenes of violence, drug use, and vulgar language.
Arsenal is the latest work by director Steven C. Miller, followingMarauders and Extraction.Belonging to the crime action genre, the film tells the story of life-changing events involving a pair of brothers.Mikey (Johnathon Schaech) and JP Lindel (Adrian Grenier) become involved with the underworld in suburban Mississippi.
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rated Arsenal R (restricted to audiences under 17) due to its graphic violence, vulgar language, and scenes of characters using drugs. According to the Vietnamese distributor, the film was rated 18+ by the Vietnamese Film Department and no scenes were cut from the original version. Besides Vietnam, the UK also rated this film 18+.

Born in a slum, Mikey and JP grew up lacking parental love. As a child, Mikey was determined to care for and protect his younger brother at all costs – from cooking and bathing him, encouraging him to play sports, to teaching JP to avoid the pitfalls of early life.As they grew up, their lives took an unexpected turn. The younger brother, JP, became the successful owner of a reputable construction company and lived happily with his beautiful wife and newborn child. Meanwhile, Mikey was trapped in debt, struggling to make ends meet and becoming a vagabond.
One day, Mikey is kidnapped due to his involvement with the underworld of drug lord Eddie King (played by Nicolas Cage). JP can't get help from the police because his brother is also a gangster. JP turns to his old friend, an undercover cop (played by John Cusack), for help. They set off.He searched for his brother regardless of the dangers and obstacles.

Actor Johnathon Schaech (who plays the troublesome older brother) shared onEWHe said he accepted the role because behind the violent scenes was a story of brotherhood. "The fact that the two characters grew up amidst life's many pitfalls, fought and defended each other in every situation, and were willing to sacrifice for the one they loved is meaningful," the star shared.
