Arsenal are considering using Gabriel Jesus as part of a swap deal for Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus, a decision that could make a big difference in this season's title race.

Currently, Arsenal sit third in the Premier League, four points behind Chelsea and six points behind Liverpool. Despite maintaining consistent form, Mikel Arteta's team has yet to break away due to the lack of a top-class striker in their attack.

With the exception of Bukayo Saka, who has scored 9 goals and provided 12 assists in 22 games this season, the rest of the attacking players have failed to live up to expectations. Gabriel Martinelli has only scored 4 goals in 22 appearances, while Kai Havertz, despite scoring 10 goals in 23 games, has been criticized for his inconsistency, especially in big matches.

In this context, Gabriel Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City for £45 million in July 2022, is facing the risk of being dropped from the squad. Despite possessing good technique and movement, the Brazilian forward has only scored one goal this season, which has led Arteta to no longer consider him a reliable attacking threat.

Dusan Vlahovic, the Serbian striker currently playing for Juventus, is considered an ideal option to improve Arsenal's attack. With 12 goals in 20 games this season, Vlahovic has demonstrated sharp finishing ability, along with the strength and speed to adapt well to the Premier League environment. Since joining Juventus, he has scored 53 goals in 121 games, a remarkable performance.

Vlahovic's contract with Juventus runs until June 2026, and his value is estimated at €65 million (£54 million) by Transfermarkt. However, it remains unclear whether Juventus are willing to part ways with the player.

This exchange deal could help Arsenal solve their problem of lacking a reliable striker, while also improving their competitiveness in both domestic and European competitions. However, the decision to let Gabriel Jesus leave also carries risks as the team will lose an experienced player.

This is undoubtedly a landmark move, not only demonstrating Arsenal's ambition but also testing Mikel Arteta's strategy in their quest for a title in the 2024/25 season.
