Arsenal are considering using Gabriel Jesus in exchange for Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus, a move that could make a huge difference in this season's title race.

The Gunners are currently third in the Premier League, four points behind Chelsea and six behind Liverpool. Despite their consistent form, Mikel Arteta's side have struggled to break through due to a lack of a top-class striker in attack.

Apart from Bukayo Saka, who has scored nine goals and provided 12 assists in 22 games this season, the rest of the attacking line has failed to live up to expectations. Gabriel Martinelli has only managed four goals in 22 appearances, while Kai Havertz, despite scoring 10 goals in 23 games, has been criticised for his inconsistency, especially in big games.

Against this backdrop, Gabriel Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City for £45m in July 2022, is in danger of being dropped from the squad. Despite his technical ability and movement, the Brazilian has only scored one goal this season, which means he is no longer considered a reliable striker by Arteta.

Dusan Vlahovic, a Serbian striker who plays for Juventus, is considered an ideal choice to improve Arsenal's attack. With 12 goals in 20 games this season, Vlahovic has demonstrated his sharp finishing ability, along with the strength and speed to adapt well to the Premier League environment. Since joining Juventus, he has scored 53 goals in 121 games, an impressive performance.

Vlahovic's contract with Juventus runs until June 2026, and he is valued at €65m (£54m) by Transfermarkt. However, it is unclear whether Juventus are willing to part ways with the player.

This move could help Arsenal solve their problem of lacking an effective striker, while improving their competitiveness both domestically and in Europe. But the decision to let Gabriel Jesus leave also carries risks as the team loses an experienced player.

This is certainly a landmark move, not only demonstrating Arsenal's ambition but also a test for Mikel Arteta's strategy in the journey to conquer the title in the 2024/25 season.
