Currently, the incumbent Mayor of New York is Bill de Blasio. Recently, an investigation into his fundraising activities has been launched, but no member of the Democratic Party has yet declared a "contender" for Blasio as Mayor of New York.
Mr. Blasio had previously worked with and had a close relationship with the Clintons. However, their relationship soured during the US presidential election. Mr. Blasio refused to endorse Mrs. Clinton's candidacy from the outset.
Many people have expressed support for Clinton's run for Mayor of New York. Former New York Deputy Mayor Bradley Tusk said, "She's very popular here and she'll win the election."
Both Clinton and Blasio declined to comment on the information. If Clinton is indeed considering the position, she needs to make a decision soon, as the Democratic primary is only nine months away.
