Information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that this agency has issued a decision on Ms. Ho Thi Kim Thoa's retirement under the social insurance regime from September 1. According to this agency, after the Prime Minister dismissed her from the position of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade on August 16, Ms. Thoa is a civil servant under the management authority of the Ministry and is no longer subject to retirement at an older age for civil servants according to the provisions of Decree 53/2015.
"Therefore, according to the provisions of the Law on Civil Servants, the Labor Code and Social Insurance, Ms. Thoa is eligible to retire and enjoy social insurance benefits," the Ministry of Industry and Trade affirmed.

At the 15th session, the Central Inspection Committee pointed out many shortcomings of Ms. Ho Thi Kim Thoa during her tenure as Party Secretary, Director of Dien Quang Light Bulb Company, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Dien Quang Light Bulb Joint Stock Company (from January 2004 to May 2010). Specifically, Ms. Thoa is said to have violated the order and procedures in the equitization of enterprises, failed to report to the Ministry of Industry (now the Ministry of Industry and Trade) for handling and improperly handled the amount of loan interest waived by the bank of 6.7 billion VND.
She also failed to report to the competent authorities and improperly handled the 30 billion VND revenue from the transfer of the right to exploit and use the land at 12 Ton Dan (HCMC). On August 16, the Prime Minister signed a decision to dismiss Ms. Thoa from the position of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade and requested the Minister of Industry and Trade to assign her specific tasks at the Ministry.
Previously, on August 8, the Secretariat met and decided to dismiss the position of member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and proposed the Prime Minister to dismiss Ms. Ho Thi Kim Thoa from the position of Deputy Minister.
