According to RIA Novosti on February 19, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz believes that countries sharing borders with Russia should not send troops to Ukraine.

"Any country that shares a border with Russia should not participate in a possible stabilization mission in Ukraine," RAR news agency quoted Minister Kosinyak-Kamysh as saying.

He explained his stance that “provocations could easily happen” in Ukraine, but did not specify who would provoke whom.

Poland's Defense Minister said that at present no coalition of European Union countries will send troops to Ukraine.

"Currently, no coalition of any countries plans to send troops to Ukraine," Mr. Kamysh said, while affirming that Poland certainly has no intention of sending troops to Ukraine.

Earlier, the AP news agency reported that some European countries were secretly drawing up plans to send troops to Ukraine to “help enforce” a future peace deal with Russia. According to media reports, Europe began exploring the options about a year ago due to concerns about US President Donald Trump’s stance on resolving the conflict. Britain and France are leading the effort.

British and French leaders are secretly discussing the deployment of a joint “peacekeeping force” to Ukraine after the conflict ends, according to the Telegraph, citing British government sources. The sources noted that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is “not yet fully” on board with the initiative, while French President Emmanuel Macron continues to push the idea of sending troops to Ukraine, which was previously discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The press office of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service earlier reported that the West will deploy a peacekeeping force of about 100,000 people to Ukraine to restore the country's combat readiness.
