A bridge for the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge.
In the Con Sung field of Hamlet 5, Nam Thanh commune, 2 hectares of green pumpkins, laden with fruit, belonging to young Party member Le Luu Thang, stretch out in a lush green color. He is one of the few 9X-generation Cooperative Directors to receive a Certificate of Commendation from the Vietnam Cooperative Union in 2022 for his outstanding achievements in economic development, becoming a shining example in the youth union movement.Young people overcome difficulties to become wealthy.in the current period.
Sharing his entrepreneurial journey, Le Luu Thang said that after giving up a stable job in Hanoi, he returned to his hometown in 2018 to start a business right on the land where he was born and raised. With over a year of experience working in Israel and two years working in the field of plant care in Hanoi, Thang started his business by gardening. To realize this idea, he did not hesitate to rent uncultivated land or land not used for planting to create green pumpkin fields. Knowing that agriculture cannot recoup capital quickly, he chose to grow short-term vegetables combined with livestock farming to utilize agricultural waste products, building a closed-loop model.
In August 2020, he established the Da Han Green Agricultural Production and Processing Cooperative. The cooperative successfully implemented a microbial organic fertilizer composting system and cultivated nearly 2 hectares of green squash in Nam Thanh commune, annually supplying over 60 tons of fertilizer and 70 tons of clean and safe vegetables and fruits to consumers in Nghe An and Hanoi. He also implemented production processes and workshops for microbial organic fertilizer composting according to the formulas and standards of the Center for Applied Science – Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An province.
Using readily available raw materials from local livestock farms and applying indigenous microorganisms in the production process, by the end of 2021, organic microbial fertilizer began to enter the market, bringing in hundreds of millions of dong in total revenue each year. In early 2024, he continued to collaborate with other young Party members to build a model of organic pumpkin cultivation on an area of 7 hectares in Yen Thanh district.
Building on his success, Le Luu Thang has become an important bridge in transferring scientific and technical knowledge to many young people and residents in the area. His production model in Nam Thanh commune not only creates jobs for 3 permanent workers but also helps them access new advancements in agriculture. Similarly, his model in Vien Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, has provided employment for 14 local workers, with a stable income of over 6 million VND per month. In addition, these workers receive guidance on clean agricultural farming techniques, thereby improving production efficiency and protecting the environment.
A prime example is Ms. Dinh Thi Ly (born in 1979) from Nam Thanh commune, Nam Dan district. Not only did she participate in Le Luu Thang's model project, but Ms. Ly also received dedicated guidance from him in cultivating nearly 2 acres of her family's land for growing pumpkins and green vegetables.
Beyond simply creating jobs, Le Luu Thang also collaborates with local households to supply seeds and fertilizers, acting as a bridge to market their products. This ensures that farmers are not only confident in product quality but also worry about sales. His efforts have transformed many unproductive farmlands into valuable land within the production value chain, thereby fostering a spirit of innovation and creativity in production. For his contributions to local development, Le Luu Thang was honored as one of the outstanding rural youth representatives of Nghe An province, receiving an award from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.Luong Dinh Cua Award 2022along with numerous certificates of merit and commendations from various levels.
According to information from the Nam Dan District Youth Union, there are currently 150 youth-led economic models in the district, many of which are run by young Party members.
These models not only generate income for themselves and their families, but also contribute to job creation and increased income for local people. They also inspire passion and determination among youth union members to develop the economy, improve their quality of life, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality, working together to build Nam Dan into an advanced new rural district.
Supporting those in need.
In recent days, the people of Nam Kim commune (Nam Dan district) have all been happy for Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (born in 1982) as she has received over 200 million VND in donations from benefactors to help with her medical treatment. The person who spearheaded this fundraising effort is the young Party member born in 1993, Ha Thi Hang – Secretary of the Youth Union of Nam Kim commune.

In the house built in 2011 with the support of women's associations and benefactors, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga shared that she lost her father when she was two years old. Later, after getting married, her husband died suddenly in an accident when she was three months pregnant with her first son. After her husband's death, she did not remarry but remained single to raise her son. For many years, she worked in the fields and carried bricks for hire to support her nearly 80-year-old mother and her son. The hardships gradually faded when her son, now in 11th grade, became a good boy who helped his mother with many tasks. Then, in early 2024, after a long period of illness, she went for a check-up and was informed by the doctor that she had leukemia. Radiotherapy required a huge amount of money, while her family had no valuable assets. At that time, she fell into despair.
Upon learning of Ms. Nga's situation, the Secretary of the Youth Union of Nam Kim Commune, Ha Thi Hang, personally mobilized and appealed to philanthropists. Thanks to her reputation and transparency in charitable work, shortly after posting the appeal, 830 people donated over 202 million VND. This money was immediately given to Ms. Nga's family so she could travel to Hanoi for medical treatment.
Previously, Ha Thi Hang had also raised over 86 million VND to support Pham Thi Thin (born in 1976) – a woman in a very difficult situation. Her husband passed away early, leaving her to raise three children alone, and her eldest son died in an accident in early 2024. Her two remaining sons both suffer from leukemia. This situation has left her exhausted both materially and mentally. Seeing her difficult circumstances and the dilapidated state of her house, Ms. Hang immediately took the initiative to mobilize and appeal to philanthropists to provide timely support to the family.
These are just two of the dozens of cases that Ha Thi Hang has appealed for support in over the years. It is known that Ha Thi Hang has a dedicated account for charitable work, which is always at zero balance. Therefore, when benefactors donate, the bank can easily provide a statement of the total amount donated, allowing her to publicly and transparently verify the details. While her first fundraising appeal for needy people in the area in 2017 only raised 3 million VND, the amount raised has steadily increased over time.
Ha Thi Hang shared: “I joined the Party in 2014 while I was a student at Vinh University. At that time, the teacher who guided me into the Party was an incredibly valuable mentor. He wholeheartedly supported me and other students with difficult circumstances at the university. His kindness deeply moved me. I promised myself that I would try my best to do many useful things to help others. After graduating and working in my local area, in 2017 I was appointed Secretary of the Youth Union of the commune, which gave me the opportunity to organize charitable activities, mobilize and connect resources to help people in need. Seeing people in difficult circumstances receive timely support warms my heart.”
Besides her volunteer work, during her tenure, Ha Thi Hang received a Certificate of Commendation from the Party Committee for implementing Directive 05 on studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh during the period 2016-2018; the People's Committee of Nam Dan district awarded her the title of Emulation Soldier at the grassroots level in 2018, 2020, and 2023, along with many certificates of merit from the Provincial Youth Union and the District Youth Union. Hang's efforts have inspired many young Party members in President Ho Chi Minh's hometown, enabling them to contribute to the comprehensive development of their homeland.
To live up to the ideals of the Ho Chi Minh generation, the youth of Nghe An province in general, and Nam Dan district in particular, have continuously strived to be pioneers in patriotic emulation movements, especially in charitable activities aimed at the community, and contributing to the construction of new rural areas...
Young Party members have upheld the spirit of "Wherever there is a need, the youth are there; wherever there is difficulty, the youth are there" to dedicate their strength and intellect to building an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland, as Uncle Ho advised years ago.
