Noni grows in the wild as a small or medium-sized tree, completely smooth. The leaves are broadly oval, rarely oblong-oval, angular at the base, with a short pointed tip, acute or blunt at the tip, 12 to 30 cm long, 6 to 15 cm wide, glossy, membranous. The flowers are white, fused into a head, 2 to 4 cm in diameter. The fruit is fleshy, consisting of many small, pale yellow-green, shiny, fused berries. The seeds have a hard endosperm.
