On the morning of August 22, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Politburo and the Secretariat met to consider the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee on disciplinary action against violating party organizations and party members.
The Politburo and the Secretariat found that the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health for the 2021-2026 term (until February 2025) lacked responsibility in leadership and direction, allowing the Ministry of Health, a number of Party organizations and Party members to commit violations and shortcomings in leadership and direction in the development and improvement of laws and the organization of the implementation of the State management function on food safety.

Messrs. Nguyen Duc Quyen, Le Duc Giang, Le Hong Son, and Ngo Cong Tuoc have degraded in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle; violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing very serious consequences, public outrage, and very negative impacts on the reputation of the Party organization and the agency and work unit.
Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation; based on the Party's regulations on discipline of Party organizations and Party members who violate the law, the Politburo decided to issue a disciplinary reprimand to the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health for the 2021-2026 term; the Secretariat decided to issue a disciplinary expulsion from the Party of Mr. Nguyen Duc Quyen, Mr. Le Duc Giang, Mr. Le Hong Son, and Mr. Ngo Cong Tuoc.
The Politburo and Secretariat requested competent authorities to promptly enforce administrative discipline in line with party discipline.
