The Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative practices in Nghe An province held its 14th meeting.
On the morning of October 10th, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee - chaired the 14th meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena.

Attending the meeting were Comrade Tran Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of Local Affairs Department I, Central Internal Affairs Committee, in charge of Nghe An province; and members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Ho Le Ngoc - Head of the Provincial Internal Affairs Committee; Pham Trong Hoang; Ngoc Kim Nam - Head of the Provincial Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; and Chu The Huyen - Chief Inspector of the province.
Also attending were Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, along with leaders of relevant agencies and units.

The regular meeting aimed to evaluate the results of tasks performed in the third quarter, determine the direction and tasks for the fourth quarter of 2025, and discuss and provide opinions on a number of issues within its authority.
In the third quarter of 2025, the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative practices continued to receive strong leadership and direction from the Provincial Steering Committee, meeting the practical requirements.

The Steering Committee has thoroughly understood and seriously implemented the documents and conclusions of the General Secretary and Head of the Central Steering Committee at the sessions and meetings of the Central Steering Committee and the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena, ensuring they are consistent with the actual situation of the province.
The Provincial Steering Committee has directed a review and handling of projects and works that are behind schedule, have long-standing backlogs, are inefficient, and cause losses and waste; and a review and handling of the management and use of public assets, houses, and land during the process of reorganizing the organizational structure and administrative units.

The Provincial Steering Committee directs relevant agencies to review, adjust, or continue implementing projects, works, and offices affected by the administrative unit reorganization according to the Politburo's policy, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and avoiding losses and waste.
In addition, the Provincial Steering Committee directed the prosecuting agencies to focus on investigating and strictly handling cases of corruption, waste, and negative practices that are of public concern; and to improve the effectiveness of recovering assets lost in related cases and incidents.

For the fourth quarter of 2025, the Provincial Steering Committee has determined to continue closely following the program and working regulations, focusing on directing Party committees, Party organizations, agencies, and units at all levels to effectively implement resolutions, directives, conclusions, regulations, and guidelines of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Steering Committee on the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena; and strictly implementing regulations on power control and preventing corruption, waste, and negative phenomena in areas prone to such occurrences.
The Provincial Steering Committee also requested strengthening education, building a culture of integrity, promoting exemplary conduct, and preventing corruption and negative practices among cadres, Party members, and the people; while simultaneously promoting the supervisory and social critique role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province, political and social organizations, the press, and the people in the fight against corruption, waste, and negative practices.
