(Baonghean.vn) - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its armed forces intercepted 17 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attacking Crimea on the night of July 23, and intercepted two UAVs attacking Moscow on the morning of July 24.

In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Kiev authorities had attempted to attack areas in the Crimean Peninsula with 17 drones. However, all were destroyed by electronic warfare and air defense systems.

"Fourteen UAVs were neutralized by electronic warfare, 11 of which crashed in the Black Sea, and three others crashed in Crimean territory on the night of July 23," the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

In a subsequent press release, the Ministry of Defense stated that three more drones had also been shot down by Russian air defense systems.

On the morning of July 24th, a traffic jam occurred on the Crimean Bridge. Traffic on the bridge was temporarily halted. Approximately 650 cars lined up at both ends of the bridge.

Earlier, on July 22, the Governor of Crimea announced that local authorities had evacuated residents within a 5-kilometer radius after a drone strike on an ammunition depot, and also halted traffic on the Crimean Bridge.

Also in the early morning of July 24, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defenses had intercepted a Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow. The two drones were neutralized using electronic warfare and crashed to the ground.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said that no one was injured after the drone crashed into two unoccupied buildings, and no major damage was reported.
