As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, at noon on October 2, two children, Luong Gia Bao (5 years old) and Vi The Truong (5 years old), living in Hien village, Ngoc Lam commune, went to the stream to bathe and drowned. At that time, Lo Duong Tu (11 years old), living in the same village, went to the stream to wash his bicycle, heard the cries for help and jumped into the strong current, one by one bringing the two children to shore, avoiding the heartbreaking incident.

At class 5D, witnessed by teachers in the school and the Ngoc Lam Commune Youth Union, a representative of Nghe An Newspaper presented a gift from reader Dang Ngoc Thang - a businessman from Nghe Tinh Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City to Tu with the amount of 1 million VND and conveyed compliments and encouragement to Lo Duong Tu, hoping that he would try hard to study and do many good deeds.

Anh and Ngoc lost their father in 2012, when Ngoc was still in her mother's womb. Anh was malnourished and very weak. Both children were young, and their grandparents were old and weak.

After their mother's 100-day anniversary, Anh and Ngoc were picked up by their grandfather and uncle to live in Chua 1 hamlet, Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc) and went to Nghi Thiet kindergarten.
