Selling drugs, man 'profits' 20 years in prison
Someone ordered drugs, so Luong Van Dung immediately went to find a seller. When the seller promised to give him money, Dung immediately delivered the drugs to the customer but was caught red-handed by the police.
On November 22, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened the first instance trial of defendant Luong Van Dung (born 1961), residing in Quang Phong commune, Que Phong district, for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".

The indictment shows that around the beginning of June 2024, a man named Cong (identity and background unknown) contacted Luong Van Dung to order 20 packages of pink drugs and 1 heroin plant. Dung agreed and made an appointment to contact him when he had the "goods".
After that, Dung called Sam Van Phuc to discuss the customer ordering drugs. Phuc quoted the price of 20 packages of drugs and 1 heroin stick at 72 million VND and promised to give Dung 200 thousand VND for each package of heroin, and 2 million VND for each heroin stick.
At noon on June 9, Phuc gave drugs to Dung. At this time, Dung contacted Cong to inform him that he had the "goods" and promised to deliver the drugs the next day.
Early the next morning, Dung brought all the drugs to deliver to Cong. However, when he arrived at Ba Cong hill, Chau Hoan commune, Quy Chau district, he was arrested by the police with more than 432 grams of drugs.
At the trial, the defendant admitted to committing the crime out of greed. The defendant stated that he was arrested before he could enjoy any benefits.
The defendant expressed remorse, explained his difficult circumstances, had many children, and was an ethnic minority, asking the court to consider reducing his sentence.
Considering the defendant's actions as a violation of the law, the People's Court sentenced Luong Van Dung to 20 years in prison for the crime of "Buying"drug trafficking". As for Sam Van Phuc, because the defendant's personal background is unknown, there is no basis for investigation and prosecution.
