The Executive Board of the Buddhist Association visits and extends New Year greetings to Nghe An province.

The delegation from the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of the province visited and congratulated the Provincial Party Committee. Receiving and working with the delegation were: Mr. Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; and leaders from the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Organization Department, Propaganda Department, and Office.

On the occasion of preparing for the Lunar New Year of the Tiger 2022, Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, on behalf of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province, presented gifts and extended best wishes for health, peace, and happiness to the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and Party committees. He also congratulated Nghe An province on the achievements in socio-economic development in 2021 and especially in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Over the past period, with the attention and support of Party committees, authorities, and political and social organizations, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province has successfully organized various ceremonies, especially the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Executive Board.

Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu stated that in April 2022 (lunar calendar), the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province will hold its delegate congress for the 2022-2027 term. Therefore, he hopes to continue receiving the attention of the Provincial Party Committee to ensure the congress is successful. This will help the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province continue to develop and contribute more to the overall development of Nghe An province.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - sincerely thanked Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu for his kind wishes. At the same time, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, he acknowledged and thanked the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province for its positive contributions in 2021 to the overall development of the province, especially in the fight against the pandemic. The image of monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers staying up all night wrapping banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) and packing goods to support people in the epicenter of the pandemic is a beautiful and deeply meaningful image.

Following that, the delegation from the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of the province visited and congratulated the Provincial People's Committee. Receiving and working with the delegation were Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office and the Department of Internal Affairs.

Here, Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu also extended his best wishes for the Lunar New Year 2022 to the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee. He also emphasized that, along with the rest of the country, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in general and Nghe An province in particular have actively participated in the fight against the epidemic, through donating goods and sending monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers directly to the epicenter of the outbreak to support medical forces in caring for patients.

Recalling that in 2022, the Executive Board of the Provincial Buddhist Association will hold its delegate congress for the 2022-2027 term, Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu hoped that the authorities at all levels would create favorable conditions to help the Executive Board successfully organize the congress. At the same time, he requested continued attention and support to help the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province develop and contribute more to the development of the country in general and Nghe An province in particular.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that in 2021, along with the rest of the country, Nghe An province faced many difficulties. However, with determination, unity, and the active participation of the entire political system, socio-political organizations, and the consensus of the people and businesses, the province's socio-economic situation achieved very positive results. In particular, social welfare work was given attention and care with the spirit of leaving no one behind, and national unity was maintained.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed confidence that, with thorough and meticulous preparation, the Congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An Province will be successful, thereby contributing even more to the socio-economic development of the province. He also hoped that, with the spirit of "Protecting the nation and ensuring the people's well-being," and the motto "Buddhism - Nation - Socialism," in the coming time, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An Province will contribute even more to the overall development of the province, building national unity, creating harmony and stability for the province's continued development.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and leaders of the Committees of the Provincial People's Council.

Thanking the Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu for his congratulations, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Nam Dinh, also sent his best wishes to the Venerable, Senior Monks, and all monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province.

Emphasizing that in 2021, the activities of the Provincial People's Council showed innovation, contributing to the successful completion of tasks by Party committees and authorities at all levels, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council stated that this included the positive contributions of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of the province, especially the role of Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of the province, in his capacity as a delegate of the 18th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026.
