Central Propaganda Department organizes Conference of Reporters on new rural construction

On the morning of June 16, the Central Propaganda Department held a national online conference for reporters in June 2023. Comrade Phan Xuan Thuy - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department chaired the conference.

At the Nghe An Propaganda Department, the conference was attended by leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and Propaganda Departments of districts, cities and towns; provincial-level reporters, affiliated Party Committees; the Fatherland Front Committee and provincial-level organizations; and political centers of districts, cities and towns.

Opening the conference, thereporterheard Major General Dang Hong Duc - Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security give specific information about the incident that occurred in 2 communes of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province in the early morning of June 11. This was an organized incident, the participants were very reckless, inhumane, attacked and took the lives of 9 people including police officers, soldiers, and civilians and threw petrol bombs to burn down 2 commune People's Committee headquarters.

Up to now, the authorities and people have arrested more than 50 subjects, including some ringleaders.

These are actions that need to be condemned, so the Ministry of Public Security recommends that people continue to raise their vigilance, actively participate in denouncing crimes, providing information to help authorities capture all criminals, ensure safety, and soon stabilize life at the grassroots level.

In the recent period, Vietnam's agricultural sector has achieved many successes: Localities have actively applied scientific and technical advances to production, especially high-tech agricultural production... Since then, Vietnam has not only ensured food security, but also become a major food exporter in the region and the world.

The field of new rural construction has been achieving many improvements across the country, meeting the needs of the people. By May 2023, 73.24% of communes nationwide had met new rural standards, 1,301 communes had met advanced new rural standards, and 139 communes had met model new rural standards.

However, the agricultural sector still has many limitations. That is, although the Central Government has paid attention to attracting investment in rural agriculture and created many specific mechanisms and policies, in the past 5 years, enterprises investing in the agricultural sector have been limited.

In particular, there are some highland districts that still have no new rural communes. Environmental treatment in rural areas still has many shortcomings... The quality of healthcare in rural areas in many places has not been guaranteed in terms of initial medical examination and treatment for people. The situation of good harvest, low prices, and agricultural product rescue still occurs in many regions; the competitiveness of domestic agricultural products with foreign products is still not high...

Finally, the conference listened to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Linh inform about the topic "Building ethical standards for cadres and party members in the new period".

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Linh emphasized: "Building standardsrevolutionary moralityof cadres and party members in the new period" is a practical activity to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat on Party building and rectification in general, and Party building in ethics in particular.
