Table for looking up retirement age and pension eligibility dates. In 2026, the retirement age for male workers will be 61 years and 6 months, and for female workers it will be 57 years.
Annual retirement age according to Decree 135/2020
Decree 135/2020/ND-CP clearly stipulates the timing of the increase in retirement age each year. For male workers, from 2025 to 2027, the retirement age will increase from 61 years and 3 months to 61 years and 9 months. From 2028 onwards, the retirement age for men will stabilize at 62 years.
For female workers, the retirement age will gradually increase from 56 years and 8 months in 2025 to 57 years and 4 months in 2027, and then continue to increase annually until it reaches 60 years old in 2035.
According to Clause 2, Article 4 of Government Decree 135/2020/ND-CP, the retirement age for workers under normal working conditions each year from 2025 onwards will be determined as follows:

The retirement age roadmap is not only based on the year but also adjusted based on the worker's birth month. Linking the retirement age to the birth month helps to accurately determine when workers begin receiving their pension.
For example, male workers born between January and December 1963 will have different retirement dates and pension entitlements depending on their specific birth month. Similarly, female workers born in 1968 or 1969 will have a detailed retirement age adjustment schedule for each month.

Regulations on the lowest retirement age starting in 2025
In some exceptional cases, individuals may be allowed to retire earlier, but not more than five years earlier than the normal retirement age.
This group includes individuals with at least 15 years of experience in strenuous or hazardous occupations; those working in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions; those with a disability resulting in a 61% or greater reduction in their working capacity; and those with a total of 15 years or more of work experience in harsh conditions.
For male workers, the lowest retirement age starting in 2025 is 56 years and 3 months, gradually increasing to 57 years in 2028, and then to 55 years from 2035 for those eligible for early retirement. For female workers, the lowest retirement age starts at 51 years and 8 months in 2025 and increases to 55 years from 2035.
