Ranking of third-placed teams in men's football at ASIAD 2023

The men's football tournament at the 2023 Asian Games has a total of 6 groups. According to the regulations, the top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will qualify for the Round of 16. However, due to the withdrawal of both teams from Group C, Olympic Syria and Afghanistan, some adjustments will be made.

Specifically, both teams in Group C, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong (China), have already secured their places in the next round. Therefore, only one third-placed team will be eliminated from the men's football tournament at the 2023 Asian Games. Furthermore, since Group D only has three teams, the result of the match against the last-placed team will not be considered when determining the third-placed teams.

The Vietnamese Olympic team started with a 4-2 victory against the Mongolian Olympic team, who are likely to finish last in the group. Therefore, even if they finish third in Group B, their performance against the Mongolian Olympic team will not be counted in the ranking of third-placed teams in that group.

According to the schedule, the group stage matches will take place from September 19th to 24th. The Round of 16 will be held on September 26th and 27th. The quarter-finals will be held on September 30th. The semi-finals will take place on October 3rd. The bronze and gold medal matches will be held on October 7th.
