(Baonghean.vn) - In 2022 alone, sesame rice crackers from Luong Son, Nhan Son, and Do Luong districts - a product that achieved 3-star OCOP provincial certification - were exported to countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia with a production volume of 1.5 million pieces.

Choosing to start a business using local products -sesame rice crackersTwo young entrepreneurs, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong and Nguyen Ba Thang (from Do Luong district), have invested in a modern factory where all stages from dough making, batter preparation, and drying are automated using production lines and machinery, reaching a production capacity of up to 40 million cakes per year and creating jobs for 50 local workers.
To find outlets for their product, in addition to expanding their domestic market share, Phuong and Thang have recently explored various ways to connect with and market their rice crackers to other countries. Initially, through local people working abroad, sesame rice crackers – a specialty of Do Luong – were exported through informal channels, in quantities ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand pieces per shipment. The main markets were Taiwan and Thailand.

In 2021, through a partner company in an export group, the first batch of sesame rice crackers from Do Luong was exported to the Japanese market in half a container. Mr. Phuong said that the Japanese market has very strict product requirements, from traceability of raw materials, quality, design, precise weight down to the gram, and especially food safety and hygiene. Therefore, the sesame rice cracker production process is strictly inspected, monitored, and tested by the partner company.

In 2022, the company exported toJapanese marketOne million sesame rice crackers, valued at 2.2 billion VND, have been distributed to supermarkets and grocery stores in Japan. This opens the door for Do Luong rice crackers to "expand internationally," reaching markets in other countries.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuong, Sales Director of Luong Son Food Production and Trading Company Limited, said: “In the near future, we will expand exports to South Korea and European countries. At the same time, we will complete the procedures and paperwork to export directly to these countries without going through an intermediary partner.”
