(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 26th, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department held its regular monthly briefing conference for December; implemented Directive 100-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on public opinion and summarized oral propaganda work in 2016.

Attendees included speakers from the provincial and district levels, Party committees directly under the provincial Party committee, representatives from the standing committees of district, city, and town Party committees, and directors of political training centers. Comrade Tran Quoc Khanh, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, chaired the conference.

Overview of the conference.

At the conference, Comrade Pham Van Son - Head of the Information and Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, informed attendees about some current events in the country and the province; summarized the socio-economic development situation of the province in 2016; the socio-economic development tasks of the province in 2017; and provided information on current events in some countries around the world that are relevant to and affect Vietnam.

Next, the comrade presented a summary report on oral propaganda work and the activities of speakers in 2016. According to the report, all levels from the province to the district maintained regular monthly speaker conferences. This activity provided primary information, including official and relatively comprehensive content, ensuring the political direction of the Central Propaganda Department and the Provincial Party Committee in various fields.

Many district-level Party committees, city Party committees, subordinate Party committees, the Fatherland Front, and provincial-level mass organizations held 10-11 speaker conferences per year in 2016, notably in the districts of Nghi Loc, Anh Son, Nam Dan, Quy Chau, Nghia Dan, Quynh Luu, and Dien Chau…

Comrade Tran Quoc Khanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - concluded the meeting, emphasizing the effective implementation of Conclusion 100-KL/TW of the Central Party Secretariat; and noting several tasks that need to be carried out in propaganda before, during, and after the 2017 Lunar New Year.

Through the activities of the speakers, cadres, Party members, and the people have become aware of their duty and are determined to firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the sacred Fatherland; the trust in the leadership of the Party and the State among cadres, Party members, and all strata of people throughout the province has been significantly enhanced.

In addition, the conference also highlighted some shortcomings that need to be addressed, such as: some content and methods of propaganda are not diverse enough; the dissemination of information to the grassroots level in some areas has not met the set requirements; and the current affairs clubs of some units are not effective...

Regarding the direction of activities in 2017, the conference emphasized improving the quality and quantity of monthly briefing conferences at all levels; including improving the quality of current affairs clubs; consolidating and training the team of speakers; strongly innovating the methods of oral propaganda towards being quick, responsive, and relevant to reality to help address pressing issues in social life; and strengthening the implementation of Conclusion 100-KL/TW of the Central Secretariat…

Regarding the implementation of Conclusion 100-KL/TW dated August 18, 2014, of the Central Party Secretariat on reforming and improving the quality of social opinion investigation, understanding, and research, the conference stated that, in addition to organizing the dissemination and implementation of the content of Conclusion 100-KL/TW, in the coming time, they will organize and advise on organizing conferences to disseminate the content to Party committees and Party organizations at all levels to serve professional work.

Accordingly, several specific tasks have been set out to effectively implement Conclusion 100-KL/TW, including consolidating the organization, building the apparatus and assigning personnel in charge at the provincial and district levels; building a team of collaborators and establishing operating regulations for collaborators.

Comrade Nguyen Trung Chau, Head of the Propaganda Department of Vinh City, speaking at the conference, stated that the city highly values ​​the work of speakers and oral propaganda, focusing on disseminating information on issues of public concern… by staying close to the grassroots, engaging in dialogue with the people, and having officials directly go to the grassroots to disseminate information and mobilize support.

Regarding the innovation of gathering and synthesizing public opinion at the district level, it needs to be done more frequently; strengthen channels and forms of gathering public opinion information to ensure objectivity and accuracy; methods of gathering information and researching public opinion can be through a network of collaborators, reporters, press information, social media, and sociological surveys; strengthen coordination among agencies, departments, and other organizations to gather and synthesize information…

At the conference, many opinions were expressed and suggestions were made regarding the implemented contents, especially the effective implementation of Conclusion 100-KL/TW in 2017 and the following period.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Tran Quoc Khanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - acknowledged and highly appreciated the effectiveness of the speakers' activities and oral propaganda work at all levels in 2016; noting some limitations that need to be overcome, including strengthening information exchange between speakers at all levels, improving the quality of current affairs club activities, etc. For the work in 2017, focus should be placed on several key areas such as maintaining the regular speaker conferences; organizing some online conferences; strengthening and prioritizing the timely and accurate dissemination of information to the grassroots level; and effectively implementing Conclusion 100-KL/TW.
