Distinguished delegates!

Exactly 100 years ago, the Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper – the official mouthpiece of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association, founded and directly led by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc – published its first issue on June 21, 1925, laying the foundation for the birth and development of revolutionary Vietnamese journalism, a journalism that serves the Fatherland, the People, and the ideals of national independence and socialism.

In harmony with the flow of revolutionary journalistic history, during the bloody days of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement, on September 12, 1930, in the homeland of the beloved President Ho Chi Minh, "Nghe An Red Newspaper" - the propaganda organ of the Nghe An Party Committee - published its first issue, contributing to the propaganda and guidance of the first general rehearsal, a momentous historical event of the Vietnamese revolution under the leadership of the Party; on September 7, 1956, the announcement "this is Nghe An Radio Station" resounded on the airwaves of Nghe An Radio Station (now Nghe An Radio and Television Station), further marking a new transformation, adding another modern form of journalism serving the people, a milestone marking the maturity and development of journalism in Nghe An.

Looking back at its glorious history, we are even more proud that the Nghe Tinh Journalists Association, now the Nghe An Journalists Association, has had a 40-year history of formation and development. The Association has continuously grown stronger both in organization and the quality of its members. To date, it has 411 members active in 13 branches.

Over the past 100 years, under the banner of the Party, the revolutionary press of Vietnam in general, and the press in Nghe An province in particular, has been built and nurtured, constantly maturing and proudly accompanying the nation, contributing to the great achievements of the homeland and the country. Especially during the 80 years of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, including 40 years of reform, with its modern press systems, in its position and function as the voice of the Party and the State, a forum for the people, a bridge between the Party and the people, between our country and the world, and between Nghe An province and other provinces, the press has increasingly proven itself worthy of guiding public opinion, serving as a great driving force and a source of confidence for the people to entrust their thoughts and aspirations in the struggle to regain and preserve independence, and to build and develop the country.

Throughout history, under the banner of Ho Chi Minh's journalism, the journalistic community has shone brightly with exemplary figures embodying national and international spirit and stature. Among them are leading journalists of the Party – outstanding sons and daughters of Nghe An province – such as Comrade Tran Phu, Comrade Ha Huy Tap, Comrade Le Hong Phong, Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Comrade Phan Dang Luu… who dedicated their blood, sweat, and intellect to revolutionary journalism and the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. And during the two great wars of national liberation, many more journalist-martyrs from Nghe An, wielding both pen and gun, fell on battlefields throughout the country. Many journalists in the đổi mới (renovation) period have dared to "commit" to truth and justice, making significant contributions to the development of their homeland, profoundly reflecting the character, integrity, and soul of the people and homeland of Nghe An to readers both domestically and internationally.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, I would like to congratulate the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism, the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Nghe An Journalists Association, and the authors and groups of authors who won the Nghe An Journalism Awards in 2024. I would also like to acknowledge and commend the great, silent but responsible, intelligent, and dedicated contributions of the press agencies and reporters in the province who have always stood by and truthfully and vividly reflected the development of Nghe An province in recent years.

Distinguished delegates!

Our country, our homeland, is entering a period of rapid, strong, and profound development of digital technology, social media, and artificial intelligence. Journalism faces both great opportunities and significant challenges. In this context, I propose that media agencies, the Nghe An Journalists Association, and the team of journalists in Nghe An province continue to clearly define their roles and missions, upholding "pure hearts, bright minds, and sharp pens," constantly innovating to meet the increasingly high demands of readers, producing journalistic works that are insightful, visionary, thought-provoking, and directional, possessing humanistic values and unique identity, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

The immediate priority is to closely coordinate with authorities at all levels, work alongside businesses and people in the province, and effectively carry out propaganda work on economic development, administrative reform, and digital transformation, especially disseminating key resolutions of the Central Government in the new era such as: Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development; Resolution 59 on proactive and deep international integration; Resolution 66 on comprehensive reform of lawmaking and enforcement; and Resolution 68 on strong development of the private economic sector and the results of implementing the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress; Resolution 39 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province until 2030, with a vision to 2045; and Resolution 18 on reforming and streamlining the political system's organizational structure for effective and efficient operation, aiming to enable Nghe An to achieve breakthroughs, rapid and sustainable development, and become a worthy center of the North Central region.

Dear reporters and editors!

Distinguished delegates!

I believe that, with the glorious 100-year tradition of revolutionary journalism and the 40 years of growth and development of the Nghe An Journalists Association, our team will continue to develop and take strong, firm steps into the 101st year - the first year of the new era of revolutionary journalism; the provincial press will constantly strive to overcome obstacles and challenges, and continue to affirm its position to accompany the Party Committee, the government, and the people in building a more prosperous, civilized, and modern Nghe An homeland.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the leaders and former leaders of central and local press agencies in the province, as well as reporters, editors, staff, and workers in the field of journalism who have always accompanied, supported, and contributed to the development of Nghe An province in the past, and I hope to continue receiving even more attention and support in the future.

The leaders of Nghe An province will continue to work closely and share with the press agencies and journalists in the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh for the common revolutionary cause, serving the Fatherland and the people. Once again, I wish all the leaders, delegates, journalists, and everyone present good health, happiness, and success!

Thank you very much.!
