Storm approaching: Concerns about construction cranes used in high-rise building projects.

(Baonghean.vn) - Fearing that the crane towers constructing high-rise buildings pose a risk of accidents during storms, on the afternoon of July 16, leaders of the Vinh City People's Committee inspected several construction sites.

Currently, in Vinh City, there are 23 high-rise apartment buildings under construction that utilize tower cranes precariously positioned over residential areas, making them vulnerable to collapse during heavy rain and strong winds.

To ensure safety, city leaders have directed construction units to urgently lower the height and anchor the rotating pillars of tower cranes and other vulnerable points at construction sites.

For key projects, direct investors and construction contractors to take measures to ensure the safety of ongoing construction, mobilize forces to clear waterways, and have plans to ensure the safety of construction equipment.

The City People's Committee also directed units, wards, and communes to maintain rescue and relief forces and equipment to be ready to respond and evacuate people from areas at risk of landslides and other dangers to safe shelters from the storm.
