German newspaper: President Trump cares more about Russia than Ukraine
Germany's Spiegel newspaper said that, unlike Russia, Ukraine does not have much to offer President Trump.

According to RIA Novosti on April 24, the German newspaper Spiegel said that, unlike Russia, Ukraine has almost nothing to offer US President Donald Trump in the negotiations.
“The main problem facing Ukraine is that, unlike Russia, it does not have much to offer to businessman Donald Trump,” Spiegel commented on the US President’s plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
According to Spiegel, the Russian side can talk to President Trump about the Middle East, China, about Arctic oil, about Iran's nuclear program and nuclear weapons, and Moscow always tries to show its political and business prospects.
“Meanwhile, Ukraine can only talk about Ukraine, about the Kremlin – that's all,” Spiegel said.
Talks on resolving the Ukraine conflict were scheduled to take place in London on April 23 at the foreign ministers level, including the UK, US, France, Germany and Ukraine. However, the meeting was postponed after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff canceled their attendance.
According to the New York Times, US representatives took this step because Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky refused to recognize Crimea as belonging to Russia. According to Western media, this is one of the important conditions in President Donald Trump's plan to end the conflict.
At the same time, Vice President JD Vance said that the US would withdraw from the negotiation process if Russia and Ukraine did not agree to US initiatives to end hostilities. Mr. Vance added that the parties to the conflict should take the final steps to end the fighting, and freeze the border at close to current levels.
