US Newspaper: Ukrainian Army Failed in Russia's Kursk Region
The New York Times reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces failed in their attempt to attack Russia's Kursk region.

According to RIA Novosti, the New York Times quoted an analyst Pasi Paroinen from the Finnish organization Black Bird Group as saying that the Russian military had given a tough response to the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region.
“Russia responded to Ukraine's offensive in Kursk,” the article said.
Finnish expert Pasi Paroinen notes that there will be no “easy steps” for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction.
According to him, by its actions, Ukraine is trying to distract Russia from the main battlefield, where Ukrainian troops are being defeated. However, analysts say, Kiev has not succeeded. Ukrainian units have failed when trying to attack.
“This causes a lot of problems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Paroinen said.
On the morning of August 6, the Ukrainian army launched a surprise attack on the Sudzha district of Russia's Kursk region. Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported to President Putin that the army had stopped its advance. He stressed that the operation in the Kursk region would end with the defeat of the enemy and the advance to the border.
Anti-terrorist regime and state of emergency have been imposed in Russia's border regions such as Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk.
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Andrey Zagorodnyuk, who is now an adviser to the government, said on August 10 that Ukraine had planned the raid on the Russian border for a long time. The purpose was not to control Russian territory "for the long term", but to expose Russia's weaknesses.
