Nghe An Newspaper wins the C Prize at the 17th National Journalism Awards.
(Baonghean.vn) - At the 17th National Journalism Awards Ceremony in 2022, Nghe An Newspaper was honored to have one work win the C prize.
On the evening of June 21st, the 17th National Journalism Awards Ceremony 2022 was held in Hanoi, coinciding with the 98th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Journalism Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023).
Attending the ceremony were: Comrade Vo Van Thuong - Member of the Political Bureau, President of the Republic; Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Comrade Tran Luu Quang - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Prime Minister; General Tran Quang Phuong - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, along with other members of the Central Committee of the Party, leaders of central departments, ministries and agencies, and leaders of news agencies and press organizations.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, President Vo Van Thuong extended his best wishes to journalists both domestically and internationally on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day, and congratulated the authors and groups of authors who received the 17th National Journalism Award - 2022.
The President highly appreciated the quality of the 2022 National Journalism Awards. The fact that the awards attracted thousands of entries across various genres demonstrates the high level of awareness and responsibility of the press towards the country, truly serving as a crucial "information bridge" between the Party, the State, and the people. This reflects the tireless dedication and contribution of journalists; their close adherence to reality to produce highly topical works, addressing pressing issues, critically analyzing major policies of the Party and the State; and proposing many innovative solutions and effective approaches with widespread influence in society.
President Vo Van Thuong emphasized: Uncle Ho – a great revolutionary journalist – taught, “Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. The pen and paper are their sharp weapons. To fulfill their glorious nhiệm vụ, journalists need to cultivate revolutionary ethics, strive to improve their ideology, professional skills, and culture; focus on studying politics to firmly grasp the Party and Government's guidelines and policies; delve into reality, delve into the working masses.”
Therefore, every journalist should remember Uncle Ho's teachings to strive for excellence, using them as a guiding principle for their actions, worthy of the people's trust; they must always uphold their awareness and responsibility to the Party, the State, and the people; uphold professional ethics, continue to demonstrate dedication, leadership, and guide public opinion. At the same time, the journalistic community also needs to innovate, access modern journalistic technology, and disseminate information on various media platforms to increase accessibility for the people; gradually implementing digital transformation in journalism.
In his opening remarks at the 17th National Journalism Awards Ceremony in 2022, Comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Chairman of the National Journalism Awards Council - stated: The entries for the awards closely followed major themes from politics, economics, culture, society, national defense, security, and other aspects of national life in 2022, vividly reflecting important events of the country, such as: Efforts to restore socio-economic development and build an independent and self-reliant economy in the context of being heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; the building and rectification of the Party; the fight against corruption and negative phenomena; and the protection of the Party's ideological foundation.
Prominent economic issues include: the stock market, the real estate market crisis, and loopholes in the management of the petroleum business; cultural topics such as preserving and promoting national cultural identity and protecting cultural values in the new era; pressing social issues such as: drug abuse in schools, human trafficking to Cambodia, violations at religious establishments, and the clandestine egg trading and surrogacy; issues related to protecting maritime sovereignty, environmental protection, and climate change adaptation; the spirit of national unity; and the digital transformation across all aspects of social life...
Most of the works closely reflect reality, are highly topical, and address the hot issues of 2022 in the fields of politics, economics, society, national security and defense, and Party building... Many works are meticulously produced, of good quality, and presented in a relatable, lively, and engaging way for readers.
According to statistics, this year, the number of entries submitted to the competition was 1,894, of which 1,774 qualified for the preliminary round. Among the 157 entries that reached the final round, the judging panel discussed, evaluated, and voted to select 9 A prizes, 24 B prizes, 46 C prizes, and 45 consolation prizes to award the 17th National Journalism Awards in 2022.
This year, the Nghe An Journalists Association won the following awards:
*) Second Prize: The work "The Well Maze" by the group of authors Anh Đào, Văn Hùng, Lang Linh, Thanh Nga, Thu Hiền, Quang Thành, Trần Đô - Nghe An Radio and Television Station.
*) Third Prize: The work "Living with Climate Change" by the group of authors: Chau Lan, Thanh Phuc, Phu Huong - Nghe An Newspaper.
