General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended and shared joy with generations of cadres and reporters of Nhan Dan Newspaper. Mr. Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, presented the First Class Independence Medal to the collective of Nhan Dan Newspaper.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and many leaders of departments, ministries and branches sent congratulatory flower baskets.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh The Huynh stated: On March 11, 1951, Nhan Dan Newspaper published its first issue, continuing the glorious tradition of Thanh Nien Newspaper founded by President Ho Chi Minh and other predecessor Party newspapers of Nhan Dan Newspaper. Since then, under the leadership of the Party, the care and guidance of Uncle Ho, the support of Party committees at all levels, a large number of cadres, Party members, and people of all walks of life, the Newspaper has continuously developed, striving to be the political and ideological flag of the Party on the press front.

Celebrating the 65th anniversary of the first issue and receiving the noble awards from the Party and the State is an opportunity for those working at Nhan Dan Newspaper to look back on the journey they have gone through, draw lessons, promote strengths, overcome limitations, unite and strive to meet the requirements of new tasks...

Mr. Dinh The Huynh suggested that those working for Nhan Dan Newspaper need to deeply understand the functions and tasks of the Party newspaper, provide timely and truthful information about the situation of the country and the world; propagate, disseminate and encourage cadres, party members and people of all walks of life to actively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, thoroughly grasp and successfully implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress.

Nhan Dan Newspaper needs to frankly acknowledge the limitations to properly resolve the relationship between the number of publications and media with the quality of information and the quality of journalistic works to enhance the persuasiveness and attractiveness of Party newspapers with rich, authentic and timely information.

Mr. Dinh The Huynh hopes that Nhan Dan Newspaper will constantly innovate its content, methods of information transmission, and forms of publication presentation, promoting the combined strength of a press agency with many media, both ensuring orientation and enhancing the attractiveness and appeal of the Party newspaper.

65 years ago, in Kim Binh commune, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province, in the midst of the war of resistance against French colonialism, the Second National Party Congress decided to "publish Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Central organ of the Party" instead of Su That newspaper.
