General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended and shared in the joy with generations of cadres and reporters of Nhan Dan Newspaper. Mr. Dinh The Huynh, Member of the Political Bureau and Standing Secretary of the Party Central Committee, on behalf of the Party and State leadership, presented the First-Class Independence Order to the collective of Nhan Dan Newspaper.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, and many leaders from various committees, ministries, and sectors sent congratulatory flower arrangements.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh The Huynh stated: On March 11, 1951, the Nhan Dan Newspaper published its first issue, continuing the glorious tradition of the Thanh Nien Newspaper founded by President Ho Chi Minh and other predecessor Party newspapers of the Nhan Dan Newspaper. From then until now, under the leadership of the Party, the care and guidance of President Ho Chi Minh, the support of Party committees at all levels, a large number of cadres, Party members, and people from all walks of life, the Newspaper has continuously developed and strived to be the political and ideological banner of the Party on the journalistic front.

Celebrating the 65th anniversary of the first issue of the newspaper and receiving the prestigious award from the Party and the State is an opportunity for those working at Nhan Dan Newspaper to look back on the journey they have taken, draw lessons from experience, promote strengths, overcome limitations, and unite in striving to meet the requirements of new tasks…

Mr. Dinh The Huynh suggested that those working at Nhan Dan Newspaper need to deeply understand the function and nhiệm vụ of a Party newspaper, providing timely and truthful information about the situation in the country and the world; propagating, disseminating, and encouraging cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people to actively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and thoroughly understand and successfully implement the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress.

The Nhan Dan newspaper needs to frankly acknowledge its limitations in order to effectively address the relationship between the quantity of publications and media outlets and the quality of information and journalistic works, thereby enhancing the persuasiveness and attractiveness of the Party newspaper through rich, truthful, and timely information.

Mr. Dinh The Huynh expressed his wish for Nhan Dan Newspaper to continuously innovate its content, methods of information delivery, and publication presentation, leveraging the combined strength of a media organization with multiple communication channels, while simultaneously ensuring its guiding role and enhancing the attractiveness and appeal of the Party newspaper.

The Nhan Dan newspaper needs to promptly identify and promote new factors, initiatives, and innovative approaches; encourage what is right and beautiful; actively fight against corruption and waste; practically build and develop Vietnamese culture and people; and contribute to creating high unity of will and action within the Party and consensus throughout society.

The staff of Nhan Dan Newspaper focuses on building a team with strong political convictions, impeccable ethics, excellent professional skills, and proficiency in using modern journalistic technology. Sixty-five years ago, in Kim Binh commune, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province, amidst the flames of the resistance war against French colonialism, the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam decided to "publish Nhan Dan Newspaper, the central organ of the Party" to replace Su That (The Truth) newspaper.

Along with the Nhan Dan Newspaper published in the North, the Southern Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Inter-Zone 5 Nhan Dan Newspaper were also published in the South and Zone 5, making significant contributions to the journalistic and ideological fronts, accompanying the heroic resistance of the army and people across all battlefields…
