Typhoon No. 2 causes fatalities in Hoang Mai town (Nghe An province).

(Baonghean.vn) - Typhoon No. 2, which passed through Nghe An province, caused significant damage, including one death reported in Hoang Mai town so far.

Due to the effects of the post-storm circulation, as of 8:00 AM on July 17th, Hoang Mai town is experiencing heavy rain and strong winds. Many civil structures have been blown away by the wind, and signs, shops, kiosks, houses, and billboards have been toppled.

Most of the trees were uprooted or broken, obstructing traffic and paralyzing several routes such as Provincial Road 537B from National Highway 1A to Cờn Temple and Quỳnh Xuân intersection.

More seriously, the storm caused one death due to a house collapse. The deceased victim was Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, born in 1969, residing in Tan Thanh Hamlet, Quynh Thien Ward.

According to initial reports, some fishing boats suffered minor damage from collisions while anchored. Currently, Hoang Mai town is implementing various measures and directing the people to overcome the consequences.
