The Soviet Nghe An - Thinh Hoa Museum celebrates its 60th anniversary.

(Baonghean.vn) - This is an opportunity for generations to come together to recall the 60-year tradition of building and developing the Nghe An - Ha Tinh Soviet Museum.

On the afternoon of September 11th, the Nghe An - Thinh Hoa Soviet Museum held a ceremony to celebrate its 60th anniversary (1960 - 2020).

Attending the commemoration ceremony from the Central Government were: Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Mai Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association; Mr. Nguyen Van Cong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Relic Site; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoan - Deputy Director of the National Museum of History.

Representing Nghe An province were: Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments, agencies and localities, along with generations of staff and employees of the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum.

Attending the commemoration ceremony on behalf of Ha Tinh province were Ms. Nguyen Thi Nu Y - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee - Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council of Ha Tinh, and leaders of several museums from provinces and cities across the country.

At the ceremony, generations of officials and employeesSoviet Museum of Nghe An - ThinhThe museum reviewed the 60-year journey of its construction and development. On January 15, 1960, the Soviet-Nghe Tinh Museum was officially established, becoming one of the four earliest museums founded in the country.

In its early days, to obtain documents and artifacts for display, the staff of the Soviet Nghe-Tinh Museum collaborated with the Museum Department of the Nghe-Tinh Culture Bureau and students from Vinh University of Education to collect them. On September 12, 1963, the Soviet Nghe-Tinh Museum was inaugurated and opened to visitors. Nearly a year later, on February 3, 1964, the Museum had the honor of receiving a preface signed by President Ho Chi Minh.

During the war years, the MuseumNghe An - Tinh SovietThey had to evacuate to Kim Lien commune (Nam Dan district). Museum staff quickly set up exhibition rooms to serve visitors, and organized mobile exhibitions to offices, factories, military units, and youth volunteer groups to boost morale and provide strength in the fight.

After the war ended, the museum moved to Vinh city, and its staff quickly set about repairing the exhibition hall and developing a new exhibition plan. In 1987, the Ministry of Culture and Information issued a decision to transform the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum into a branch of the Vietnam Revolutionary Museum.

Since then, thanks to the efforts of generations of officials and staff, along with the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and various departments and agencies, the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum has been increasingly invested in and built to be more spacious and modern, meeting the requirements for preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage.

The museum has grounds covering nearly 15,000 square meters.2outside the housedisplayThe permanent complex also includes other facilities such as a storage facility for artifacts, a memorial to martyrs, a monument to patriotic and revolutionary fighters imprisoned at Vinh Prison; and thematic exhibition rooms on "The Life and Revolutionary Career of Leader VI. Lenin", "The Life and Career of President Kaysone Phomvihane and the Vietnam-Laos Friendship".

Currently, the museum houses and displays nearly 16,000 documents.artifactsThe collection includes over 3,500 original artifacts, 4,000 documentary films and photographs, nearly 6,000 personal files of imprisoned soldiers, over 2,500 pages of French-language documents, over 100 memoirs of veteran revolutionary cadres, and a number of intangible cultural heritage items.

With its achievements, the Soviet-Nghe Tinh Museum has been honored with the Third-Class Labor Medal by the State, and has received numerous Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Culture and Information and the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

In the next phase, the Soviet-Nghe Tinh Museum will strive to effectively carry out its mission of innovating and upgrading its exhibition system, applying modern science and technology to its displays, and presenting vibrant and engaging content that meets the cultural needs of the public in the 4.0 era.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the achievements of generations of staff and employees of the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum over the past 60 years. He also urged the museum's staff to further strengthen their work in collecting and displaying artifacts and documents to fully recreate the Nghe-Tinh Soviet movement.

On this occasion, the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum was presented with a banner by the Provincial People's Committee bearing the inscription "Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum - 60 years of construction and development"; the collective staff and employees of the Museum and 3 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and 4 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.
