The "Journalism Sharing with Teachers 2025" competition aims to encourage journalists, reporters, editors, and contributors from print, radio, and television media to research, explore, and disseminate inspiring stories about teachers working in the 248 communes, wards, and special border areas (after the merger and implementation of a two-tiered local government system).
The journalism award is associated with the "Sharing with Teachers in 2025" program, organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training since 2015. Over the past 10 years, the program has honored 576 teachers who have made significant contributions to the cause of education.

This year, the Organizing Committee received 263 nominations from 25 Vietnam Youth Union branches in provinces and cities, and the Border Guard; of which 201 applications met the eligibility criteria for selection. There were 79 teachers from ethnic minority groups, including the Y Bo, Bru-Van Kieu, Co Tu, Gie Trieng, Ha Nhi, Mong, Khmer, La Chi, Lao, Muong, Nung, Pa Co, Phu La, San Chay, Tay, and Thai.
Towards the program, Nghe An province had 15 individuals whose applications were submitted for consideration by the Department of Education and Training and the Vietnam Youth Union of Nghe An province. Among these 15 individuals, two teachers were honored at this year's program. They are Ms. Lau Y Pay (born in 1986) – a teacher working at Huoi Moi branch, Tri Le Kindergarten – one of the remote, border, and economically disadvantaged schools in an area where 100% of the population are H'Mong ethnic people.

Alongside her is teacher Pham Thi Mai Quyen (born in 1977), currently working at Dong Van Primary School (Thong Thu commune). As a teacher from the lowlands working in a remote village, Ms. Mai Quyen has always strived and worked hard, achieving the title of "Excellent Teacher" at the provincial level and receiving numerous commendations and awards from the district and the education sector. She is also an energetic and proactive teacher, leading the way in all activities. During her many years as a homeroom teacher, she has had many students successfully admitted to the District's Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, earning the trust and affection of parents and students alike.
The remaining 13 teachers, although not yet selected to participate in the program, all share a passionate commitment to spreading knowledge and love in these challenging areas.
Based on those observations, the team of reporters from Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television produced a three-part special series: "The Journey of Spreading Literacy in the Border Regions of the Fatherland".

The work affirms serious investment and quality in both content and form through three parts: Part 1: Hearts returning to the village; Part 2: Where love blossoms along the journey of settling in the village; Part 3: Continuing the story of going to school in the border region.
This event honors the teachers who are tirelessly dedicating themselves to the cause of educating future generations in the remote areas of the country. At the same time, it fosters understanding and empathy for the difficulties and hardships faced by teachers in mountainous regions, spreading a sense of responsibility, love for the profession, and a desire to contribute among these "those who sow knowledge" in the borderlands.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training, has approved and awarded prizes to 8 journalistic works. These include 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize, and 5 Consolation Prizes.
Outperforming hundreds of entries from media outlets nationwide, Nghe An Newspaper and Radio & Television won first prize with their special feature "The Journey of Spreading Literacy in the Border Regions of the Fatherland". The authors were: Nguyen Thanh Nga, Hoang Thanh Quynh, Hoang My Ha, Nguyen Diep Thanh, Bui Cong Kien, and Nguyen Hong Toai.
