Newspapers and radio and television stations in Nghe An province visit and present gifts to two Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, on the morning of February 5th, the Trade Union and Youth Union of Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television organized a delegation to visit and present gifts to two Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the province.
The delegation was led by Comrade Phan Van Thang - Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television; also participating were representatives from the Trade Union, Youth Union and departments of the agency.
The delegation visited Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Chau in Lam Thanh commune, who is 94 years old this year.
My mother has seven children, two of her eldest sons were martyrs who died in the resistance war against the US in the Quang Tri battlefield in 1972. In 1973, her younger brother also died. Currently, my mother is living with her youngest son in the local area.
The delegation also visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh in Truong Vinh ward. Mother Oanh is 94 years old this year and has 8 children; two of her sons are martyrs, having sacrificed their lives while on international duty in Cambodia in 1979 and 1981.
During their visits to the families, the delegation kindly inquired about the health and well-being of the mothers, and presented gifts in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
Upholding the principle of "Drinking water, remembering the source," for many years, Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television have been providing care and regularly visiting and encouraging two Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Nguyen Thi Chau and Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, on holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year).
