'Bao Viet K-care' - An effective and humane solution for cancer

(Baonghean.vn) - Bao Viet Insurance - a member of Bao Viet Group officially launched the product "Bao Viet K-Care" on August 2, 2016, - a specialized insurance product specifically for cancer, the first time in Vietnam.

This is considered an effective financial solution, providing timely and comprehensive support for insurance buyers with a total payment benefit of up to nearly 1.2 billion VND, helping patients feel secure in early and thorough cancer treatment, reducing the risk of death from this "deadly" disease.

Cancer is now becoming a health disaster, a haunting fear for all people. According to estimates from the Ministry of Health, by 2020, our country will have 189,000 new cases and the number of deaths due to cancer will reach 82,000, accounting for 43.5% of the total number of patients. Vietnam is among the countries with the highest mortality rate of cancer patients in the world.

In fact, research also shows that hundreds of thousands of cancer patients in Vietnam have caused hundreds of thousands of families to suffer heavy financial consequences from cancer treatment. Statistics from the Center for Nuclear Medicine and Oncology show that 34% of patients do not have enough money to buy treatment drugs after 12 months of being diagnosed, 22% cannot pay for travel expenses, 24% cannot afford regular household expenses such as electricity, water, gas, etc. In addition, since January 1, 2015, the Ministry of Health has officially reduced payment for 28 types of cancer treatment drugs from 50-100% to 30-50%.

As an insurance product designed specifically for cancer, “Bao Viet K-Care” offers four insurance benefits to policyholders including: Cancer insurance benefits (early and late stages), Hospitalization benefits, Cancer death benefits and Accidental death benefits.

In particular, the product is designed with a deep humanity with cancer insurance benefits, patients will be paid an amount of up to 1 billion VND, thereby being more proactive in choosing advanced treatment methods and places, towards eliminating the disease, reducing the mortality rate due to cancer. According to experts at the Central Cancer Hospital, if early-stage cancer is effectively treated, the mortality rate due to cancer can be reduced by 70%.

The procedure to access “Bao Viet K-Care” is simplified to the maximum. Specifically, insurance buyers do not need to undergo a health check but only need to answer a brief risk survey. In addition, insurance premiums are also very reasonably built according to three programs and the premiums are maintained unchanged throughout the 10-year term.
