VietNamNet newspaper receives the First Class Labor Medal.

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 12th, in Hanoi, VietNamNet Newspaper held a ceremony to receive the First-Class Labor Medal and celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Attending the ceremony were: Nguyen Manh Hung - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Minister of Information and Communications, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Nguyen Van Ba ​​- Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper; and representatives of leaders from central ministries, departments, and agencies.

Representing Nghe An province were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, and other invited guests.

On December 19, 1997, the VietNet website appeared, marking the birth of the VietNamNet online newspaper. On June 17, 2008, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 755/QD-TTg transferring the VietNamNet newspaper to the Ministry of Information and Communications. On May 30, 2018, the Minister of Information and Communications signed Decision No. 820/QD-TTTT on the merger of the VietNamNet online newspaper and the Vietnam Post Newspaper into the current VietNamNet newspaper. From an online news site, VietNamNet has continuously developed, elevating itself to become a brand with significant socio-political standing and widespread influence.

Speaking at the anniversary celebration, Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper, Nguyen Van Ba, emphasized that throughout its development journey, VietNamNet Newspaper has consistently pursued a strategy of building a newspaper that is "reliable, responsible, insightful, and innovative." The criteria of "fast, accurate, objective, and standardized" are the key to VietNamNet Newspaper's service to the nation and its people; creating trust and consensus in society to collectively realize the aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the President of Vietnam, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung presented the First-Class Labor Order to VietNamNet Newspaper.

Speaking at the ceremony to receive the First-Class Labor Medal and celebrate its 25th anniversary, Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Minister of Information and Communications - suggested: "VietNamNet is a newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Information and Communications. The field of information and communication technology must be the number one strength of VietNamNet, and that is also the newspaper's mission."

Recognizing that the newspaper must innovate to develop, the Minister of Information and Communications emphasized: "If VietNamNet wants to innovate, it must return to its original values ​​and mission, which is to serve and prosper the nation. The newspaper must respect differences to foster creativity, choose more challenging tasks to hone its skills and grow; always be present at hot spots and pressing issues; and focus on solutions rather than criticism."

Previously, this newspaper was also awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal in 2012 and the Second-Class Labor Medal in 2017.
