VietNamNet newspaper is affiliated with the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
The government issued Decree 114/2025 on June 3rd, amending Clause 12, Article 3 of Decree 41/2025 dated February 26th, which stipulates the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
Accordingly, VietNamNet newspaper is now under the direct management of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
Decree 114/2025 takes effect from the date of signing (June 3).
Previously, VietNamNet Newspaper was a public service unit directly under the Ministry of Information and Communications (as stipulated in Government Decree No. 48/2022 regulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Information and Communications).
In implementation of Resolution No. 18 "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the organizational structure of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient", the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Science and Technology merged to form the Ministry of Science and Technology.
According to Decree No. 55/2025 dated March 2, 2025, which stipulates the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Science and Technology, VietNamNet Newspaper will continue to operate until the competent authority approves the transfer of VietNamNet Newspaper to the direct management of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
