Barca face Atletico in King's Cup semi-finals

The Cup holders may face a lot of difficulties when they have to compete with the opponent considered the strongest in the semi-finals, Atletico Madrid.

The draw for the semi-finals of the King's Cup took place on the afternoon of January 27. Accordingly, Barca will face Atletico, while Celta Vigo will only have to face Alaves.

There have been many exciting clashes between Barca and Atletico in recent years. In the 2013-2014 and 2015-2016 seasons, Atletico eliminated the Catalan giants in the Champions League quarter-finals.

"We know Atletico very, very well. We will have very difficult matches. In matches like that, even the smallest thing can make the difference," Barca right-back Sergi Roberto assessed.

In the quarter-finals, Barca and Atletico both achieved convincing results. The Cup holders eliminated Sociedad with a final score of 6-2, while Atletico beat Eibar 5-2.

Avoiding two strong opponents could be a great chance for Celta Vigo to reach the final. Celta Vigo recently proved their mettle by eliminating Real Madrid, while Alaves reached the semi-finals thanks to a win over second-tier Alcorcon.
